Shannon | 5 comments Hi! I just joined this group after being linked to it by a mutual follower on Tumblr. My name is Shannon, and I'm a 23 year old Long Islander. I'm a writer (I mainly write poetry); I spent some time going to school for writing but am currently working towards my degree in Adolescent Education (focusing on English). I obviously love reading and writing poetry. I've been reading a lot of YA/YT fiction, I absolutely LOVE Shakespeare, Christopher Marlowe, and Edgar Allan Poe, I adore the Harry Potter books, and I've recently been bitten (again) by the fantasy/sci-fi bug. The last series I finished was The Hunger Games, and the last book that I read (for pleasure) was actually a re-read of The Great Gatsby. When I'm not reading or writing (or babbling incessantly), I work at a local library as a page (which, in the most basic sense, means I'm the girl who takes all of the returned things and puts them back on the shelves).

I don't know what else to say and I'm very bad at introductions, whoops!

W.B. Dallas (wbdallas) | 26 comments I'm new myself but I'll go ahead and say welcome anyway. Welcome!

How do you like working at the library? I've been thinking of checking with my local library for either volunteer or paid positions if any exist. Was curious as to how that all works.

I really enjoy what I have read of Shakespeare and Poe, but I haven't read enough of either one.

Hope to see you around! Welcome!

Ashley (icecheeseplease) Welcome to the group, we're glad to have you here! And if you're ever interested in sharing any of your writing I'm sure the group would love to read them!

Yuki (yukinakamura6556) | 12 comments HELLO! Welcome to the group. What is your favorite Poe story? I remember rushing to the school library after classes are done to read this Poe compilation because it's the only horror book there and I love horror.

Welcome! My job at the library is pretty nice! I love all of my coworkers. Even though a lot of strange things happen from time to time, it's a really good job and I can't complain about being paid to work with books all day. =p

Ah, thank you! I'm sometimes shy about posting my writing, but I might share if there's a place for it/if anyone is interestd. =)

Hello! My sister has the complete works of Poe, so if I ever get a craving it's easily satisfied. I enjoyed The Black Cat and The Telltale Heart, but I remember reading The Cask of Amontillado and really loving it. It's hard for me to pick favorites. =p
