Just when you thought doomsday was over...

Centuries ago Acheron saved the human race by imprisoning an ancient evil bent on absolute destruction. Now that evil has been unleashed and it is out for revenge.

As the twin to Acheron, Styxx hasn’t always been on his brother’s side. They’ve spent more centuries going at each other’s throats than protecting their backs. Now Styxx has a chance to prove his loyalty to his brother, but only if he’s willing to trade his life and future for Acheron’s.

The Atlantean goddess of Wrath and Misery, Bethany was born to right wrongs. But it was never a task she relished. Until now. She owes Acheron a debt that she vows to repay, no matter what it takes. He will join their fellow gods in hell and nothing is going to stop her.

But things are never what they seem, and Acheron is no longer the last of his line. Styxx and Acheron must put aside their past and learn to trust each other or more will suffer.

Yet it’s hard to risk your own life for someone who once tried to take yours, even when it's your own twin, and when loyalties are skewed and no one can be trusted, not even yourself, how do you find a way back from the darkness that wants to consume the entire world? One that wants to start by devouring your very soul?

Ok so I know most people reading along in the other books are not up to this point but for those of you that are. I opened up this thread early.

I follow Sherri on facebook and she keeps posting spoilers for this book. I really want to read them, but at the same time I don't.

Is anyone else reading them?

I'm not reading. I might go nuts. I don't want to love him, but SK being SK, I wouldn't put it past her to make me love Styxx.

I don't really want to either, but I know there is going to be some big revelation that he wasn't as horrible as Ash remembers him.

I think back to Valerius and Zarek. How Valerius tried to help and always ended up hurting him more, but Zarek never saw the trying to help part.

I've started this and I am going to make it through before the new year.

you will change your mind about Styxx Dyllan. I liked it but I had issues. A lot of it took place in the past and the torture went to new levels even for SK I thought.

You know Pat I had that thought before. Each book seems to have a hero tortured a bit more and more graphically. The last League book (Born of Silence) I read made me think that.

I am so tired of the torture in this one. I am happy Styxx Finally met Bethany but I'm just waiting for it to all go horribly wrong.

I am only to the point they just met. Going to get this monstrosity listened to by the end of the month.

Ok so really I am tired of all the (view spoiler)[ rape (hide spoiler)] scenes in this one. I really think that is why it has taken me months to get through it. I get he is tortured but enough is enough.

I am also very behind. I started (and will finish) Dream Warrior today. I think that's 7(?) books behind. :-/ Trying very carefully to avoid spoilers for the rest of the series so I don't venture into other threads. To be fair I don't think I finished any of my challenges for 2013, much less this one.

lol, I know I bombed a lot of mine too.

I listened to about 6 hours of this today. I got past the half way point at least. But I just want it to be over. I wanted to like this one. I was really looking forward to it, but hard read is an understatement.
