Hello. I am a new member to goodreads and to this group. I worked for 30 years in the computer industry, when most computers were mainframes. Since I first learned to read, Science Fiction was my favorite genre. I started with the youth fiction of Asimov and Heinlein. I enjoyed the classics of Verne and Wells. Burroughs's Mars, below Earth, and Venus series were big entertainment for me. (Disliked Tarzan after reading the first book and never read another.) Then I progressed to the more sophisticated works of Bradbury (still my favorite writer), Le Guin, Clarke, and the more adult fiction of Asimov. There was always still room for the adventures of Laumer and later Weber. Although they did not challenge the mind as much, sometimes what life needs is a good escape.
Anyway. I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I hope that I add useful and entertaining comments to the discussion.
