Nickname | 70 comments The librarian manual says that in the URL field amazon links aren't permitted.
Now, an italian librarian (that is a GR author, too) add a lot of books and filled the URL field with amazon links.
I sent him a message reporting the librarian manual, and he reply me with injuries and an aggresive tone.
He ask me who am I and why I removed his links. He says that all the books are kindle editions, Amazon aquired GR an so amazon links are legit I can't reply because he have blocked me.
So am I wrong? Amazon links are now permitted? What to do with him?

Empress (the_empress) I don't think you are wrong. The manual is still valid. Amazon is still a seller and this is not their private advertising agency. I advise you to flag the message you received as offending and explain the situation. Staff will take a look at that.

Also authors are not librarians but they can still add books like everyone else.

Also this means that he cannot edit those books unless they are his and if he continues braking the rules his status might be revoked.
Also there is no need for those links since the green buttons will lead to amazons edition.

Edit: I'm not sure if you know this but you can just scroll into his log and UNDO do links. Unfortunately the wrong ASIN numbers would have to be manually fixed.

Good. Thank you for your suggestions and explanation. Yes, I removed all his links with the undo function and he become angry for this. He also filled the ISBN10 field with the ASIN code but now everything is ok. I want to flag his message but it's in Italian. Is it possibile, or I can flag only English made comments?

I saw you have fixed all the ASIN numbers.

You can flag the message and add a translation in the description (it will ask you for a reason for the flag) and links to logs or comment. In addition you can flag everything else, you think might be useful for the staff to review the case. I suggest you use the flag options, because contacting by email takes too much time.

Also we can check in few days if he has put the links back to his own books.

I hope I made things more clear. If you have anymore questions I will try to answer.
