Google is notorious for their fun variation of logos for different seasons, holidays & events we all celebrate. Each year they have a contest for students to come up with a new design.

This year it is "What is your wish for the world" and they have some amazing entries. You can vote for one logo for each student age category.

HOW COOL IS THAT !!! my fav is region 1. Johnny Zuk is a rock star. second fav is region 7. Miriam Elizabeth Lowery, you have a better understanding for what makes up the world than most. i love art done by kids. as a matter of fact i was thinking just last night before i saw any of this that my favorite art is done by kids. i am in a local school twice a week volunteering and i see really raw, transparent things created and hung up on the walls. really emoting their feelings. i always attend the artfest things at the library and such because i really love what the kids are doing and want to support them. i was looking at a book i have about the Louvre two nights ago and i was saying to myself "i don't really care for much of this" (yes, i have been there and in person it is different) my point is, the joy, emotions and fun kids put into art do more for me

That is exactly it Kevin, The emotions and fun and in some cases innocence that they portray are so enjoyable.

I was amazed at how in-depth they all were, how much goodness and well-being and creativity they all expressed. My daughter is always drawing and creating stories, and her view of the world is so fun and carefree but also detailed in things I certainly would never noticed.

We just went to Art Night at her school and it was so much fun looking at all the myriad of ways they expressed themselves. It was just awe inspiring.

When I was in Kindergarten, we had an art assignment to draw an original picture of anything we wanted, but the entire page had to be filled up.
I think as a 5 or 6 year old, you never think about filling up the whole page. At that age you don't do backgrounds. But it was so great! I drew a weird scene of Pac Man on a mountain, and I won 1st prize.

I think that is such a cool thing... a real example of how a teacher can push you to do greater things than you would think of doing yourself.
I would love to be that kind of influence.
Anyway, sorry to babble on about myself, now I gotta go check out all the cute kid art!!

I love teachers like that! It is exactly that kind of inspiration that we all hope our children get, but sadly don't always see. My daughter has one of those, thank goodness. I think the kids that get to open up their imaginations like that are the ones who really know how to find what they want out of life.

Great story, Julie. That was a great suggestion on the part of your teacher.

I have to say, Julie, I never had the good fortune to have a teacher like that who encouraged creativity. I guess I made out OK in spite.

growing up i had the ghetto crayons. that is when you have 7 crayons. two red, one white (totally useless), a brown (what the **** is ochre) and three with the paper tore off that could have been purple, dark blue or black. you had to actually color on something to find out. you ended up with lots of blue shoes and boots and some black or purple skies. the only thing the white crayon was good for was to smear a little bit of the end with red crayon and then act like you were smoking it.

my art encouragement from my teachers: don't color anything disgusting and keep your hands to yourself

Kev, I'd be glad to share my gimundo box of 140 crayons with you. Actually, it's fun to leave them in the sun all piled together so you get one massive melted crayon. Then your skies get all psychedelic colored. Trippy! lol
