Lucky! Well, I am only a kid..... I have a long life ahead of me!

message 202: by Miss Ryoko (new)

Miss Ryoko (missryoko) Haha yes you do! And I hope you'll get more opportunities to go to other countries too Shae!

message 203: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks! So, have you read Percy Jackson? Ella told me I should try it but I haven't gotten a chance to pick it up at the library.

message 204: by Miss Ryoko (new)

Miss Ryoko (missryoko) Yup, I read the whole series this summer! It's pretty awesome, and hilarious! I hope you'll get a chance to read it!

message 205: by [deleted user] (last edited Dec 17, 2009 07:34PM) (new)

I do too.....

message 207: by [deleted user] (new)

Ew.

message 208: by Miss Amelia (new)

Miss Amelia (missameliatxva) so i went to the bookstore (actually, 4 bookstores, but whatever) and i bought - among others - the warrior heir (heir trilogy)...has anybody read those? my cousins liked them...
oh and has anybody heard of once upon a marigold? it looked cute...

message 209: by [deleted user] (new)

I would have to say I like Borders more. B&N almost has TOO many books. Borders is just, well, comfy!

I've never heard of The Warrior Heir, but I had a teacher six years ago who read Once Upon a Marigold to our class. I don't really remember the story, but I do remember it being a fun book.

message 211: by Miss Amelia (new)

Miss Amelia (missameliatxva) im starting the goose girl (books of bayern)anybody read those?

message 212: by Miss Ryoko (new)

Miss Ryoko (missryoko) Me!! Me!!!

Well, I only read The Goose Girl and Enna Burning. I haven't read the last one yet (cuz I didn't know there was another)!!

But I liked those two!

message 213: by Miss Amelia (new)

Miss Amelia (missameliatxva) yay!!! im exciting: ive heard really good things about them.

message 214: by [deleted user] (new)

Once you read HP you can make what used to seem like good books turn into dirt. I mean, nothing can compare the awesomness!

message 215: by Miss Amelia (new)

Miss Amelia (missameliatxva) except PERCY JACKSON. :D

message 216: by Miss Ryoko (new)

Miss Ryoko (missryoko) and except a lot of other books too! Of course Harry Potter is awesome, but good books still exist outside of Harry Potter

message 217: by [deleted user] (new)

*Sigh. I have been on here for 2 hours. I am tired.*

like FOOL!

message 219: by Annalisa (new)

Annalisa (goodreadsannalisa) Amelia,
I think you'll like Goose Girl. I think Princess Academy is her best book. You might want to try that one too. Incidentally Shannon Hale lives within walking distance of my house. I saw her at the grocery store once. I hear she's very nice.

message 220: by Miss Ryoko (new)

Miss Ryoko (missryoko) Whoa!! That's cool Shannon Hale lives right by you!!

I have Princess Academy! I haven't read it yet but I'm excited to!

Oh man, Amelia I can't wait for Fool to come out in paperback so I can buy it (I'm a bit OCD when it comes to my books and I like them to be uniform, I have all of Christopher Moore's books in paperback - except one I bought used off Amazon...I didn't know it was hardcover but I can get over it for the simple fact its the same size as my paperbacks-) but anyway, I want to buy it and read it again!

Thank you so much! I'm looking forward to it: the series I just finished was really good but incredibly detailed and hard to concentrate on (have you read anything by Juliet marillier?). It'll be nice to read something not as "intense"

That make sense!!! I get that way about my series boo, if like some of them are paperback and the rest are hardback (my Percy Jacksons drive me nuts cause I've got 3 paperbacks and 2 hardbacks -- UNEVEN!!!)

message 224: by J. (new)

J. (astromd) | 1 comments I'm going to give the Percy Jackson series a shot. I just finished The Host and I really enjoyed it. Her style is similar to JKR in that her stories are engaging without the use of cursing and sex scenes.

message 225: by Miss Ryoko (new)

Miss Ryoko (missryoko) Amelia! That's my Harry Potter series!! The first 4 are in paperback and the last are hardcover! I hate it!! I want to get them all in paperback as my "reading" copies and put away the hardcovers for...show I suppose. Just to save.

message 226: by Miss Amelia (new)

Miss Amelia (missameliatxva) haha and my LGW series (first two are paperback, the last one is a lanky hardback). all my HPs are paperback; my TWILIGHTs dont bother me so much because 1-2 are paperback and 3-4 are hardback. hahhha my mom says im like "Monk."

message 227: by Miss Ryoko (new)

Miss Ryoko (missryoko) Yeah, I believe I have a slight form of OCD. Organization and likeness in things that are similar (like books, or DVD series, etc) I go slightly nuts over. Haha! Oh well, at least it doesn't interfere with my life that much

message 228: by Miss Amelia (new)

Miss Amelia (missameliatxva) can i go O/T?
does anybody have a blog?

message 229: by Annalisa (new)

Annalisa (goodreadsannalisa) I totally get the OCD thing, not only with books but everything else. If you really have OCD though, you have to call it CDO (put it in alphabetical order).

message 230: by Miss Ryoko (new)

Miss Ryoko (missryoko) haha Annalisa!! (actually, I shouldn't be laughing cuz that's a little rude-to laugh-... but it was cute!)

message 231: by Annalisa (new)

Annalisa (goodreadsannalisa) Oh totally laugh. You have to laugh at yourself or you go really crazy.

What do you mean your series?

message 233: by Miss Amelia (new)

Miss Amelia (missameliatxva) yeah annalisa that was pretty clever!!! :D

message 234: by [deleted user] (new)

I want all of my Harry Potter books in paperback, hardcover is SO heavy I can never read it at night!

message 235: by Miss Ryoko (new)

Miss Ryoko (missryoko) Shae, take a look at the two words in front of series....and you'll see what I mean by series.

Haha Annalisa I can certainly laugh at myself, but I felt bad for the people with severe OCD that affects their life, so I felt rude laughing about it, but it was cute!

message 236: by Miss Ryoko (new)

Miss Ryoko (missryoko) I hate borrowing my books because I HATE bent back covers and I read them a certain way to keep the covers from bending back so that if you lay them flat, it won't pop open. I can't stand when the covers pop open! Haha

message 237: by [deleted user] (new)

message 241: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm reading Home of the Brave which is a poetry book, I'm not crazy about poetry, but it is amazing! Here is the link to the book: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18...

message 242: by Miss Ryoko (new)

Miss Ryoko (missryoko) 3 days!! Wow that IS long for you Amelia!! Haha! I wish I could read books as fast as you. Maybe I could get my 200+ "to read" list down to a number that doesn't scare me. Haha... where will I find the time!!

message 243: by Miss Amelia (new)

Miss Amelia (missameliatxva) hahaha i finished The Goose Girl and it was awesome!!! i love the way Shannon Hale writes! I could have used more romance though, hahaha. im a sucker for good clean romances :P

message 244: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm just about done reading Home of the Brave.. It was surprisingly good.

message 245: by Emily (new)

Emily (teacups_and_rainydays) | 38 comments i'm not reading anything right now but soon i'll start reading sherlock holmes, the picture of dorian gray, and kissed by an angel.

i usually have a very small "to-read" list, like 30 books or less...i dont put books on there until ive actually committed to reading them. i wish there was a "maybe" list, cause then there'd be like 100x hahha

message 247: by Emily (new)

Emily (teacups_and_rainydays) | 38 comments lol me too. there are a LOT of books i want to read but don't have time for!

message 248: by Miss Amelia (new)

Miss Amelia (missameliatxva) i know, and i should be reading now, but we've started a LOTR marathon... >sigh< i guess i'll have to start my next book tomorrow...

it's always "tomorrow," isnt it?

message 249: by Miss Ryoko (new)

Miss Ryoko (missryoko) woot! the LOTR movies were awesome!

My problem is all I want to do in my free time is play video games...heh..... The only time I read is when I'm at work on break, waiting for my ride at the end of the day, or during nap time when the kids are sleeping. Its terrible! I used to read like 10 books a month, now I barely get through one!

message 250: by [deleted user] (new)

I have to keep setting down Percy Jackson, the Lightning Thief for my book club, but I have thought that it is a really good book.
