Leslie | 16369 comments Which of these histories about seafaring exploration have you read? Which would you be interested in reading for our Sea mini-challenge?

Leslie | 16369 comments I don't read much nonfiction, butI have read a few of these:

Kon-Tiki: Across the Pacific in a Raft
The Perfect Storm
The Hungry Ocean: A Swordboat Captain's Journey

I might try to find Patrick O'Brian's Men-at-War for our challenge.

I haven't read any of these, what did you think of those three books that you read Leslie?

Leslie | 16369 comments I read Kon-Tiki back in high school and liked it so much I went out and read Thor Heyerdahl's book about Easter Island. Of the 3, I would recommend that one. I really liked The Hungry Ocean if you want something more contemporary - the author (the captain) is a woman so it deals a bit with what it is like to be a female captain of a commercial fishing vessel.

Kai Coates (southernbohemian) | 22 comments I read The Bounty: The True Story of the Mutiny on the Bounty and highly recommend it. Very readable, and such an interesting story.
