Do you think if Rick had made a series about Jason instead of Percy, would we like him more and Percy less?

Fair point but somehow I think a son of Zeus to start a series is just too predictable. The reason Percy worked is because wasn't son of the best and that's what made him laid back and not arrogant.

Yeah, you're right, Percabeth has gotten a little bit sloppy. I don't like how everybody is in a relationship except for Leo. We don't need Jasper or Frazel. I don't like Frazel anyways. Or Jasper. I like Percabeth, that's the thing, but Rick is starting to just slap together couples that weren't meant to be. I hope that Frazel breaks up but I doubt Jasper will. Some of the couples don't seem right to me, I feel like some couples should've waited. I don't understand why Rick had to put a bunch of couples together. We don't need couples for conflict or a plot. We just need characters, a quest and some drama. Piper annoys me though, how she compared Percy to Jason. She's got to remember that Jason is perfect and Percy is special. Percy can't be Jason and Jason can't be Percy. They've both got flaws, weaknesses and strengths. Nobody cares that Percy looks unimpressive to you compared to Jason. That was offensive. When I read that part I pursed my lips, put down the book and shook my head. 'Nobody cares Piper, nobody cares.'

To me, Piper is a lesser Annabeth. They needed a "mate" to Jason, but the fit isn't quite right. I understand the coupling, this is the age where that happens. When you look at it through Piper's eyes, she's going to compare because the boy she likes best is always going to be better...just like Annabeth who found Jason "too perfect", she loves Percy's imperfections. However, they question remains...if you can put aside the fact that you followed the Greeks rather than the Romans first, would you still like Percy more than Jason? I say yes...I like Percy's quirks. Just my opinion. :)

I like Percy a lot more. Jason's too uptight and he doesn't break the rules. He's too goody goody. Remember when Percy broke the rules in The Titan's Curse to save Annabeth? He took Blackjack and followed Zoë, Thalia, Grover and Bianca because even though it was the wrong thing, it was the right thing. Jason, I doubt he would've done that for Reyna or whoever because He. Doesn't. Break. The. Rules. Percy does because Percy's not afraid of getting in trouble. He's not afraid of the rules. He knew he had to be on that quest dispite his and Thalia's fight (I loved that fight). Jason is too perfect for not only Annabeth, but for me aswell. I don't like him because he seems too perfect with that ruler stuck inbeetween his buttcheeks, never doing anything wrong or stupid. We like Percy's stupidity. That's what makes him special and Jason perfect. I won't hold a grudge against Piper for her opinion, but her opinion was unfair to me.

YESSS!

Thank you! And yeah, there would be no Leo or Piper (Piper is boring anyways), Leo is the only chapters worth reading out of those three. The only interesting POV would be Reyna's. Um, I don't like Piper or Jason a lot. I mean, they're cool and all, but I find Piper's chapters annoying. I try not to be offended about Piper's comparison between Percy and Jason. I like Jason and I like Percy but I like Percy more only because of all the books I've read about him.

But don't you think that if the series was about Jason, Rick would've made it more interesting? Based on the Jason we know he's boring and knocked out A LOT. But in order to catch our attention, he would've made him more interesting. I like Jason but sometimes I think he feels superior to his peers. He admitted it to Piper. He told her that he's not used to not having attention on him. Even when he wasn't the best at Camp Jupiter, he was the best. And who names the camp Camp Jupiter? Are they trying to suck up to Zeus--I mean Jupiter.

I would hope that he would have made it more interesting or Jason more interesting. It does seem from what we info we do have that he had his share of interesting battles as well. Rick is a fantastic writer, but I can only speculate by what info I have and by no means to I want to appear so stuck on Percy as if there is no way I would like a character more, because I think I actually like Leo's character more than Percy. These are awesome stories and this is a great question and debate.

Considering that Americans name places after legendary figures like the Founding Fathers such as George Washington, it's not really surprising that the Romans would name their camp after Jupiter. The camp's name may also be referring to their eagle standard that spits lightning at their enemies or their original name, Twelfth Legion Fulminata.
The Greeks also named various locations at camp after Thalia,Zeus, and Zephyrus, so this seems to be the case.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel that Jason's comment to Piper was that he felt inferior to the Seven because he kept getting knocked out throughout MoA and that he felt that he was not living up to the standards of being part of the Seven.

Rick is a great writer, and I want to know Jason more. I'm hoping that Rick does give him a POV (honestly, I just want to know what he thinks about Percy).
These are great stories, and I'm hoping to understand some of the Roman's a little more (Jason, Hazel, Frank, Reyna, Octavian, etc.). I still think Percy is the better guy though.

Yeah I guess, but I thought they think Zeus is a little bit better (I guess he is). And there's Zeus's fist and Thalia's pine, so I guess it makes sense why they named their camp after Jupiter. But then again, wouldn't the other gods be offended or something? Percy said it himself, the gods get offended easily. If I were one of the other major gods I wouldn't like Zeus very much anyways (I think he's spoiled, lol).
Yes because then aren't we more attached to the character? Jason is every bit as interesting as Percy, we just don't know as much about him.

p..."
I don't really like the romans, Mostly because they think everything is stronger as a roman like in S.O.N they told Percy they refer to Gaia as the Greek form because she is not as strong. like you said Jason is very vain and so are the Romans. Narcissist people they are (No offense to Roman lovers)

ooh, I finally can explain it... thank you. lol

Okay, this made me laugh. A bland, useless moron with no personality? Why the hate? I mean, I don't care much for Jason either, but why the hate? On a different note, Percy is WAY more interesting than Jason. I can tell you that, but if Rick had decided to make it about the Roman's and Jason instead of the Greek's and Percy, he'd need to make Jason an interesting character to do so.

PERCY ALL THE WAY."
Agreed! But then again, if we had gotten to know Jason...

We would have a completely different discussion named "Do you think if Rick had made a series about Percy instead of Jason, would we like him more and Jason less?"

Apparently they are developing the characters more in the house of hades. My sister got it, and she says he is bare able this book, I am retreading the mark of Athena, he is sorta a stubborn selfish brat hat keeps information to himself and his ignorant girlfriend piper, when I got the book the lost heroe, I rereAd it without Jason's part, and I loved the book, rereAd it with Jason's part and I was like "why did I buy this again?" I can handle piper, but Jason is just... Well lets hope for the house of hades that they are more developed

I agree with people that say Jason is boring and always follows the rules... Because he is.
Hazel is not greek. I hate Jason he came in and took Percy place well listen to this all you Jason fans PERSUS JACKSON IS THE ONLY TRUE HERO. Not Jason. thank you.

Lol agreed entirely

NO i think i would still like percy

To be fair, if the situation in MoA was reversed, the Greeks wouldn't take the accidental Roman attack kindly, especially the Athena kids.

In general,I like both of them. I am more accustomed to Percy's style of narrating though.

I think this is totally true. He is never described with any 'awesome' qualities like Percy.

Percy Jackson forever!
Never! Jason is ok but I love Percy's cocky nature. No one could ever beat him... well maybe Leo but its hard to tell
