Hi Brittney!
I just visited your site. Very impressive. You've put a lot of thought and time into it. Here are some of my suggestions...
Number One...
The background needs a little color to make it more interesting but not enough to where it takes away from the content. If you're working with a template, you may not have that much flexibility. If you can only change the color but not add shadowing, etc., then choose a dramatic neutral like deep/dark green or purple. It will make the book covers pop! Whatever you choose for the background, make sure the wallpaper (or whatever you call the floral in the back) shares the same color family, only a couple of shades lighter or darker.
Number 2...
Make the book covers larger. With only 3 presented on a line, they get lost and that's what you want to highlight.
A very wise man gave me some great advice many years ago regarding public speaking but it translates beautifully for any form of communication, especially blogs. Find 5 major points you want to make in your blog and then only deliver 3. The point is, depending on your audience, you're prepared to mix it up if need be, but you'll always have something fresh to offer, and you'll never over saturate your reader.
Number 3...
Make sure you check for typos, content and formatting. The more professional, and interesting you make it, the more readers you'll attract.
Good luck. You have a great start!
