Just for fun - as you read Hummingbird Lake, who might you picture as lead characters in a movie based on the novel? Pick any character and tell us who you "see" in the movie role. I'm still having to have a good think on this one myself.

Totally agree. Perfect Sage and Colt. LOVE your photos.

Great photos Sharlene! I think you nailed Sage & Colt.
Sharlene wrote: "I just started the reread - hangs head - so I need to refresh my memory on their characteristics & get back to you." No problem - I stumped myself with this question!! And I've read it!
KK wrote: "I got a late start rereading Hummingbird Lake so some characters I will need to think about but for Colt Rafferty I would pick Chris Hemsworth. I can see him with the sensitivity of an artist but ..." OH, KK - Chris Hemsworth is one of my very favorite actors right now. I love the idea. I actually squeal when I see him on TV - my husband just rolls his eyes.

I love Amy Adams, and thank you for posting photos! That is AWESOME!

Paula, Chris is a favorite of mine too! He is such a cutie. Big rugged but a soft and kind side too.

You're right, Sharlene! There is - and that makes it even more appropriate! Posting within the feed is difficult - it requires using HTML code, and even though I use it all the time on my blog, for some reason it never works here! I love having the photos section - and really love to see members posting there! Thank you again!

I agree 100% Paula, all three are very nice to look at but there is just something extra about Chris.

Agreed. It's a little about "everything extra!" - I think I may post a photo of your choice in our library - after all, it's a good choice and bonus eye candy.

I like that idea!

I posted one of my favorite Chris Hemsworth photos for the benefit of book hero visualization! LOL.

That's a good choice - and I see what you mean, based on Sandra's film repertoire. I loved The Lake House with Keanu Reeves - and many others. But the poignancy of that film resonated with me like something from Nicolas Sparks.

Lesley wrote: "I don't watch a lot of films but when people suggest Actors for roles I can usually imagine them as that person." There is an organization - for lack of a better word - that runs something called the "IF list." When readers want a book or a series made into a movie or TV series, they add it to the IF list website with their "dream cast" for the lead roles. Screenwriters and producers actually look at that list, and some books/series have either been picked up or optioned. I like to read the book with no one in mind - a "blank slate" -and then later imagine my dream cast. But I love seeing what other readers think and why - it's just a great way to spark the imagination.

Really? I never knew that but am so glad to hear it! I'm a very visual person so when I'm reading a book I usually have a pretty clear picture of what the characters look like in my head and I HATE when they turn books into a movie and the characters look totally different from the book description. It's great to hear they have something that takes reader's opinions into account when it comes to character casting. Thanks Paula!
Brenda wrote: "I like to start with a blank page too Paula. I use the words of the story to make an image of the character for me, then afterwards I like to see what others think about who would make good actors..." I agree, Brenda. That's exactly what I do. And we all have "eyes" for "type" -- the actor's appearance, their usual film genre, their 'image' (tough? Really Bad Boy? Romantic and sweet like Bradley Cooper??) I've really enjoyed this thread! Hope you have too!

Somehow I got on their email list, I think it was because I have some very strong thoughts on the characters of Gabriel and Julianne from Sylvain Reynard's series. Most of the time it doesn't matter to me, but when it does? I'm headed for the IF list! LOL.

Michelle wrote: "I'd like Sandra Bullock for Sage also. I always liked her in Hope Floats so I think Harry Connick Jr. for Colt. He's pretty "hunky" too." Hadn't thought of Harry Connick, Jr.! Nice!

She seems to have all of the right qualities - both actresses that were 'nominated' have great strengths and a broad range of skills. Now let's see who gets selected for Heartache Falls!
