Okay and its fine I may be slow to put it up as I'm working on school.

ᎻꮖꮐꮋᏞꭺꭰꭹ (hollywaug) I'm free now. Want me to start?

Sure thanks. I'm sorry busy.

ᎻꮖꮐꮋᏞꭺꭰꭹ (hollywaug) Michael was strolling about the moderately sized town wearing a pressed white shirt and brown pants with black boots. He kept his hands in his pockets and he walked towards he post office to pick up the mail that never seemed to come. He was waiting for one letter in particular, but his hopes were running low. Sighing softly, he entered.

Alice was sitting on the front steps of the local schoolhouse, waiting for her tutor to show up. He wasn't running late; she was just early. She was so eager to get her delayed future started. Alice was wearing a nice dark blue dress with a high colour and many frills and buttons. She was also very mature for her age that never seemed to attract the right attention. A man across the block at the blacksmiths kept sneaking looks at her.

Aaliyah had to get her aunt and uncle's mail right away. She didn't want to face the wrath of them for being late. Wishing things were the way it used to be before her parents murdered. Sighing some as she scurried her way to the post office. Opening the door running into the boy. Not once did she look down and say sorry to the boy. There was no time for that nonsense everything was on the line. Who knows what could happen this time if she was late? "Hi ah can I have my mail for Scott." Asking normally she didn't make eye contact in fear that someone would notice her bruises or scars. A long pink dress that used to be beautiful is what she was wearing. It looked like it hadn't been watch or even change in days.

Jayden was excited because he had his first teaching job. Well it was more so tutoring a young girl, but still it was his first job. Wearing a nice suit and tie. With a stack of books in one hand and a brief case full of papers that he needed in the other. He walked to the place where he was going to tutor her. Walking in around twenty minutes before she had to be here he notice that she was already there. "Good day Miss.Dwyer I see you are early please give a few minuets to prepare my things then we will begin." His voice was kind, but still had the booming voice that teachers have.

ᎻꮖꮐꮋᏞꭺꭰꭹ (hollywaug) Michael was in the middle of checking out the stamps when he was suddenly bumped from behind. He huffed and blinked, quickly turning around to face whomever knocked into him. "Oh I'm sorry miss, I-" he began to say, but stopped when he realized she looked like she could care less about who she ran into. He blinked in confusion and watched her closely from a distance, noticing every tear and dirt smudge on her dress. What kind of young lady like herself dresses like that? He thought to himself. The poorer people lived quite a distance away from town, but it wasn't odd to see them. Just...rare.

Alice blinked and looked up, lifting her hand above her eyebrows to shield them from the sun. She smiled and stood up on the schoolhouse steps, nodding in greeting. "Good morning. I'm sorry, I had time so decided to wait. I don't mind." She said, checking out his features for a moment. It was rare to see a young teacher like himself. There was no ring on his finger, so he wasn't married. Intrigued, Alice bit down in her lip and watched him enter the schoolhouse. It was polite for students to wait to be called in when the teacher was ready for them. So she waited patiently, holding her slate and pencil in her gloved hands.

Aaliyah got noticed the mail on the counter of the post office. Grabbing it quickly turning around and walking out of the building. She stepped in every puddle it didn't really matter. The dress was basically a rag now. Trying to keep it the down low. Recalling that her aunt and uncle didn't want her to talk or look at people. The last time she did that she got beaten. The last time she was late she got thrown in her room for a week without no food. Her current punishment was wearing this dress and no shower for not cooking the food the right way. As she walked in the door early looking down putting the mail on coffee table. "Where have you been?" Eyeing her aunt not wanting to say a word afraid to speak. "The mail." Her voice was quite. "Good you can go in your room and don't come out unless if we tell you to." The same old words she got told everyday. Hoping nothing bad would happen to her when her uncle got home.

Setting the books he prepared for her and his brief case on the table. Before turning around he tightened his tie with his right hand. "Miss.Dwyer where have you left off? I wasn't quite sure on the exact thing so I brought books from the very beginning to the first year of high school. If you don't mind starting the far back then we can begin." Moving around looking right at her. "I'm Mr.Davis. We will be covering a lot each day. I do expect homework and extra reading done to be at home. Tests and quizzes will happen." Pausing some. "I do have a diagnostic test which will show me the areas we need to spend most of our time on." Opening his brief case getting the test out and putting it near. This was new to him. Hoping he was giving to much or too little.

ᎻꮖꮐꮋᏞꭺꭰꭹ (hollywaug) Michael waited two whole seconds before walking out after the dirty girl, his curiosity getting the better of him. He opened his mouth to call out to her, but she was to quick, gone before he could say anything. Sighing deeply, he noted where she was headed and turned away toward the town's only boarding house for blind children. He skipped up the steps and went inside. He was greeted by a seven year old boy named Jerry who was blind in both eyes since birth. "Hey Jer!" Michael greeted. "Michael!" He exclaimed back. Michael chuckled and ruffled his hair.

Alice walked silently into the school house after she gave him some time to prepare. She peeled off her gloves and began to unbutton her thin coat. "I'm not to far behind actually, but I don't mind going back and reviewing some things." She replied, shrugging off her coat. "My best subject is English and history and my worst is arithmetic." She said sadly, draping her coat on the back on her desk chair. She sat down and studied the test he pushed toward her. Her pursed her lips and studied it closely.

An hour or so later her uncle came home drunk like usual. He walked up the old steps that led to her little room upstairs. Opening the door an empty bottle in one hand and nothing in the other. Tensing up not wanting to get hurt by him, but had a feeling he will do it. "There's talk about a dirty girl in town who ran into someone and didn't say sorry." He said. "We say sorry to people who are higher than us." Looking up with fear in her eyes. "Understand." Slurring the words shouting. When she didn't answer he threw the bottle on the ground. "Understand!" Grabbing her by the hair and throwing her on the floor barley missing the shattered glass. "When you understand clean up the glass then come downstairs?" Not answering as he walked away. Tears rang in her eyes.

Looking up at her. "Uh sorry um this new to me. If you could bare with me." Hoping that would make thing better in advance. "You have one hour to complete it from then I will start the lessons that I have planned, then I will give you something do while I grade it" Running his hand through his hair. "After that I will see where you stand" Hoping he was doing everything right. This was his chance to make it big. If got this right there could be so many more jobs out there for him.

ᎻꮖꮐꮋᏞꭺꭰꭹ (hollywaug) Michael spent that hour fixing small repairs that had to be done around the boarding house, like loose floorboards and such. It was important to keep the place safe for those kids who didn't see, which was all of them. After that he taught his history class to the older students, and by the time that class was wrapped up, school was out of session for the day. Michael packed up his briefcase and headed to the basement where his room was.

Alice fished out her pencil which she pre-sharpened. She took her time handwriting her name at the top of the page. She then nibbled on the eraser bit of her pencil, gazing at him. "I'm allowed to ask questions if I'm stuck, yes?" She asked softly.

((Sorry on how short it is I'm not near a computer. My kindle isnt the best for detail posts))

Aaliyah laid there for awhile afraid if she got up he would come back for her and hurt her even worse. Getting up slowly he whole body trembling. This wasn't how life was suppose to go. Walking to her bed. Her whole body would be covered in bruises soon as well as a spre body. Trying not to think about how she will feel hours aways. Every step towards her bed a wave of pain hit her.

Jayden looked up from his books. Running his hand through his hair out of being nervous. He wasn't sure how was he suppose to know? What if he answered wrong? Thinking about his studies and what he learned about this test. "This is just to see where you are so I can get you to where you need to be. Helping you would defeat the purpose of it." Hoping that was good enough.

ᎻꮖꮐꮋᏞꭺꭰꭹ (hollywaug) ((No worries))

Michael hummed softly as he entered his small room in the basement. It may be small but it was definitely cozy. There was a small fire place, a sitting area and a bed for him in the back under the stairs. Michael sat his briefcase in the chair and began to unbotton his long coat, shrugging it off his shoulders. From there he sat on his bed and unlaced his boots.

Alice bit her lip and watched him answer her question. She could tell he was nervous; but why? He was her teacher....and how was she suppose to understand a question if she didn't since she wasn't allowed to ask? Sighing deeply, Alice nodded and shifted in her seat before beginning to take the test.

onceuponatimeareview | 4906 comments Mod
Wincing at the pain as she laid down in her bed Aaliyah began to think on what to do. Maybe she could ask them to be nicer to her? Shaking her head slowly that was a terrible idea. Then the idea of leaving could work. She didn't have no where to go. She guessed anything would work, but here.

Did he mess up? Shaking his head he shouldn't have to second guess himself. He is her teacher despite this everything was on the line. Jayden couldn't help be nervous. Who would take a teacher as young as he is seriously no one? He had to get this job right.

ᎻꮖꮐꮋᏞꭺꭰꭹ (hollywaug) Michael relaxed back against his small bed, staring up at the cracked ceiling. This time of day was probably his least favourite because he wasn't the greatest at sleeping. Ever since the horrific fire that took his family away from him, he couldn't properly sleep. So, he rested there for a few moments before during up and lacing up his boots again.

Alice spent almost an entire house working on the test he had given her. She got stuck a few times but refused to ask for help because she wanted to prove she could do this without help. So when she scribbled down the answer to the final question, she sat back in her seat dramatically and let out a breath of air. She quickly composed herself and smiled. "I'm finished." She said softly, sliding the test papers to the edge of her desk to collect.

onceuponatimeareview | 4906 comments Mod
It took every last strength Aaliyah had to curl into a ball. Waves of pain hit her. She didn't have enough energy to keep her eys open, but she didn't want to sleep. Afraid of what could happen if she did. They could hurt her even worse. Tears stung at her face as the y landed in cuts. She was far too broken.

Jayden smiled some getting up taking the paper and grading it has he looked at the answer key. "So you did really well on some or the questions and bombed others." Pausing a bit. "I'm going to give you a quick reading assignment. Tomorrow we will cover more" Picking up a copy of Pride and Prejudice. "Read the first chapter"

ᎻꮖꮐꮋᏞꭺꭰꭹ (hollywaug) Michael shrugged on his coat and silently made his way upstairs onto the main level of the blind school. From there he crept out the back door and followed a faint trail around the home to the main town streets. He whistled softly as he made his way towards a place that haunted his dreams every single night.

When he informed her she bombed a few, using such a harsh word, Alice bit her lip and nodded slowly, staring down at her lap as he continued to grade. When he slid the book over to her, Alice couldn't help but perk up. "Yes sir", She smiled. Little did he know that she read the book twice before.

onceuponatimeareview | 4906 comments Mod
Aaliyah wonder if she should leave tonight? No that would be a bad idea. She could leave when she gets the mail in a couple of days hoping that her bruises would be heal. Unless if something else happened that would cause her to be beaten again and again. Trying her best to fight sleep that was overcoming her quickly.

"Don't worry about that test it was just to see where you are at. If it makes you feel any better it was some of the math problems." Trying his best to make her cheer up or feel less bad about herself. "Anyways tomorrow we will start with arithmetic, history, and English." Hoping he sounded teacher like. "You are going to do great on everything I give you." Looking up at her trying to sound encouraging.

ᎻꮖꮐꮋᏞꭺꭰꭹ (hollywaug) Michael gasped when the remains of his old house came into view. He's seen it plenty of times before, but every time he saw it was like the first time when the officer took younger him there to identify the bodies of crisped family members. That memory made him shudder; that officer shouldn't have made thirteen-year-old Michael do such a thing. The house was still standing on its base, but the walls and roof were either long gone or barely standing. The house used to be a bright robin's egg blue, but not it was black and coated with charcoal just like his heart.

Alice looked up from the the book in front of her, putting on a small smile. She wasn't surprised to hear that math was her weakest. It always was. English however was her strongest. She loved the way words could be weaved into a sentence and mean so many different things. She also loved the rules that came along with English, like spelling and literary devices and what they all mean. "Alright sir." Alice said with a smile. "I can't wait." She added, which was true. She missed learning more than anything...well, not her parents of course. That thought made her frown a little and look down at her desk. She had to stop thinking about it. She promised herself she was done with mourning. Hopefully his new teacher of hers could help her with being distracted; in s good way.

Aaliyah opened her eyes some it was the middle night or maybe it was just dream either way she was in so much pain. She tried to move around some, but every time she did pain spread through her body like waves crashing hard on the shore. There was nothing she could do. The thought of leaving was still fresh in her mind and she knew she had to leave for living her was not an option. Living here was the her worse nightmare because there was no waking up from it. Looking at what time it was. It was almost time for her to do the chores around the house.

Hating having to get up after being beaten. Her uncle would do it again. Putting the feet on the floor. Thinking of people had worse than her. She was lucky she just got beaten everyday of her life. In her eyes she was lucky, but in reality if someone gotten beaten as much as she did they would have issues. She needed out and quick if she ever had chance of recovering from this because everyday she didn't leave a little piece of her will be torn away. The aftermath would just be shell of person. A person who just got up and down and didn't have anything left in them.

Trying to shake this off Aaliyah got up and washed the laundry and started a fire so her aunt and uncle wouldn't get cold. The old wooden floor was squeaked as her feet step on it by now she learned how to do it quickly without making sound. She really wanted to take a bath, but would be afraid of what would happen if she did. Walking out in the cold autumn night with no coat or shoes on to get the fresh eggs. It was late at night early morning and if she got her chores down now there might be a small chance she could a get a bath. Something she didn't have in awhile.

Jayden smiled some. "See you tomorrow don't forget to read the first chapter of Pride and Prejudice and tomorrow. Once I get my personal school room up in my house we will be meeting there. Is that alright?" Asking looking at her some. "I don't want it to be weird or anything I just will have everything there." He was had a big room in his house which had his intents to being used a tutoring room until he got a job at a school.

Or maybe he would be successful at tutoring people one on one. He didn't really know what his future had in store for him. What he did know he wanted to make sure his first job would good right and everything will be perfect. Glancing down at the desk he was using. This wasn't his it was the town school's room and since they weren't in session he could was using it. He would have a classroom someday he didn't know when but teaching was his passion.

Jay was social awkward. He didn't get much interaction with people because he study so much and dedicated his life to teaching people. He limit his eye contact with her because he didn't now how to interact with anyone let alone a girl or a student. "I don't want you to think this will be easy there's going to be a lot of work each night starting to tomorrow." He changed the subject quickly not wanting to talk about his personal office. Hoping she wouldn't get the wrong idea by it because that wasn't what he was going for.

ᎻꮖꮐꮋᏞꭺꭰꭹ (hollywaug) Michael could hardly remember the good times that happened inside that now burnt house. But what he did remember was that he was at one point happy to live there. His family had money so their Christmas's were great. But then the fire happened and he was left all alone with barely any money to get him by. Michael sat outside the house for what felt like hours. He couldn't yet part with it. Most times he had to force himself away, reminding him that he had blind children to teach who relied on him a lot. So he forced himself to his feet and made himself retreat back to town, taking the long way.

Alice desperatly wanted to admit that she had the first chapter read years ago, but she decided to keep her mouth shut. He seemed new at all of this and she didn't want to make him feel any less about himself so she nodded politely and stood up, gathering her books and papers. At the thought of being alone with him at his own place made her heart flutter but she tried not to think about it to much. It was strictly for learning purposes. He was in fact her teacher and it was suppose to remain that way."That is perfectly alright." She replied as she shrugged on her coat. At his comment to the upcoming heavy work load, she grinned. "Oh that's perfect. I love keeping busy." SHe smiled, stuffing her books under her arm.

((I'm sorry it took so long to reply my internet went down))

Aaliyah walked around with the eggs and open the door and set it down in their fridge. Looking to see the fire needed wood she quickly walked outside to the front of house to get the wood for the fire. Every move she made was painful and it was the all she could to do walk. This was her life and she had to come to turns with it. Who would believe her anyways? Her aunt and uncle were well known towns people and everyone believed the. No one knew the secrets of the house hold. She took her time. Taking a shaky breath she couldn't stop working or she could get beaten even more.

Jayden looked up some. "Okay see tomorrow my room should be done and we will be starting a little early because of the amount of material we have to cover." He said as he got up and from the desk with his papers. Not knowing that he should reply or not he walked out of the school room to his house. He didn't bother offering to the hold the door for her. Walking to his house trying not to think about work and work only. That was the most important thing right?

ᎻꮖꮐꮋᏞꭺꭰꭹ (hollywaug) ((No worries))
Michael walked toward the forest, knowing that there was a trail that ran along inside it. He never really went in there, but it was still nice to walk beside it. Michael shoved his hands into his pockets and noticed a small house coming into view. He heard noises coming from around the side of it, like someone was working around the farm. Curious, he turned off the path and then noticed a girl who looked oddly familiar.

"I'll see you bright and early." She said cheerily, offering him a small wave before he left. She sighed softly and buttoned up her coat before leaving the schoolhouse. She skipped down the steps and turned left around the schoolhouse towards her home that wasn't far.

onceuponatimeareview | 4906 comments Mod
Aaliyah was walking slowly not noticing anyone watching her. Looking down at the wood. Her feeble arms started to shake as she reached her limit. The wood soon collasped all over the place. She looked quickly to the house hoping she didn't wake up anyone. Her uncle would kill her. Tears slowly ran down her face. She couldn't take it anymore. Reaching to pick up the wood that was all over the ground.

He didn't really hear her wave or say she would be bright in early. The thing on his mind was getting the room down and planning tomorrow's lessons out for each subject and be prepared with everything. Jayden turned the door knob with his free hand and walked in to his messy room. The paint was up and dried there was his desk which had papers all over it. School supplies were all over the place. A couple small tables with chairs on top. Setting his things on the desk. Looking up to take in the mess and what he had to do before tomorrow.

ᎻꮖꮐꮋᏞꭺꭰꭹ (hollywaug) Michael watched her closely, flinching as all of the wood fell from her hands. She looked way to exhausted and frail to be doing that kind of work. "Hey!" He cAlled, jogging up to her. "Allow me." He knelt down and began to pick up the articles of wood.

Alice walked home as she tried to remember what she could of Pride and Prejudice, which it didnt take long to remember. It was one of her favourite books.

onceuponatimeareview | 4906 comments Mod
Aaliyah looked up and saw the boy who was the person she ran into. She shook her head no. "Give it to me. I don't need you to get me in trouble." She whispered quitely. Her voice wouldn't go aby louder. She was going to get it beaten again.

Jayden quickly got everything done. He began to sit down to do lesson plans. After that he gathered the supplies for the next day. As well as some textbooks. He couldn't wait to get started so he made dinner and went to bed early.

ᎻꮖꮐꮋᏞꭺꭰꭹ (hollywaug) "What are you talking about?" Michael frowned. "You are in no shape to be lifting these. Or doing much of anything." He lowered his voice to match hers. He wanted to know why she was so scared.

Once home Alice helped with dinner, then washed up and went to bed after briefly flipping through chapter one of the reading she was suppose to do. She blew out her lamp and snuggled up under the covers.

onceuponatimeareview | 4906 comments Mod
As every second ticked by she grew more anixious. "Just leave now I have to finish my chores." She hissed at him pushing through the pain to take the wood. Walking to the door she did her best not to show the pain, but it did show. Once she opened the door she took the wood to the fire forgetting about the boy not feeling bad for leaving him hang out there.

He went to his room and closed his eyes waiting to wake up and teah. Wishing the night would go faster.

ᎻꮖꮐꮋᏞꭺꭰꭹ (hollywaug) "Hey, wait!" He took a step closer to her but stopped. Something told him not to follow her...but it was hard because her pain spoke a million words to him. He mentally noted where she lived and started to leave. Whomever she was, he was going to help her.

The next morning, Alice was up right at dawn. She dressed into a dark blue gown with ruffles and frills. She pinned her hair up and started on her morning choirs, which was making breakfast for herself and her aunt and father.

onceuponatimeareview | 4906 comments Mod
She didn't look back. The aches of her body made her cringe, but she was almost done. The last thing she had to do was cook breakfast and get hot tea ready for her them. As she did this she let on the table as they started to come down. Quickly lighting the lamps with a match. Her uncle and aunt were always busy and got up and got up early. When asked if she did her chores Aaliyah nodded yes. They told her to be dismissed and go put on something decent today was her aunts group meeting and Aaliyah had to be presentable. They gave her a some money to go get a new dress. Nodding her quickly she went up stairs slowly and painfully.

Morning light shined in his bedroom. Smiling to himself he got up and took a bath. Putting a nice suit on he walked downstairs and ate some breakfast. After that he went to see if he got any telegrams. He did from his parents concerned that he was still bachelor and needed to find wife. Sighing he walked back to his house slowly. Why did anyone care if he wasn't married yet? He had his career ahead of him

ᎻꮖꮐꮋᏞꭺꭰꭹ (hollywaug) Michael made it back to the blind school in under a half hour. The kids were just getting up and ready for the day. He helped set the table and was then pulled aside by one of the older girls who asked if he could take her into town to buy a dress for church the next Sunday because she grew out of hers. "Of course Cora." He smiled and patted her cheek, which made her blush. She always fancied him. "Now go on and eat then we'll go." He smiled. Cora nodded and carefully made her way into the dining hall.

After breakfast was complete, Alice and her aunt helped clean up the table while her uncle got up and ready for work. Alice washed up herself and gathered her school things. She double checked the address she was suppose to go to and then slipped down the stairs.

onceuponatimeareview | 4906 comments Mod
Looking down some. She didn't really have any presentable clothing to go outside to buy a dress with. Sighing some this won't be a problem when she ran away. She might be able to get a job or meet someone. Lighting the candle she took of her dressed and hand washed it and let it dry. Picking it up looked like rags she did her best to repair it. Looking around seeing some extra blue velvet fabric. Smiling she sewed it to the her dress. Making a beautiful white long sleeved and black and blue dress. It wasn't her favorite, but it is what she had to work with. Slipping her only corset on she finally looked presentable to the outside world. She patted her face with some powered to cover up the bruises. Turning out of her room and down the stairs and outside to buy a dress. Trying her best not to show how much pain she was in.

Jayden smiled as he reached his door and open it. He walked to his room and sat down at his desk mentally going over his lesson plans for today. He thought he would cover English first then History and arithmetic last. Preparing what he will say to her. Everything was going to be perfect. He separated his supplies for each subject. He then put the last two subjects on his desk. Leaving the English on the small table. Pulling over the small chalk board he had. This was his first teaching job it was going to do go great.

ᎻꮖꮐꮋᏞꭺꭰꭹ (hollywaug) While the children ate Michael prepared himself a slice of toast and jam then went downstairs to his small bedroom to get ready himself. He only changed his underpants and trousers and socks. He quickly combed through his hair and shoved the rest of the toast into his mouth as he climbed up the stairs just in time for the children to be done eating. Cora was already waiting for him by the front door with her coin purse in hand. "Shall we, M'lady?" He chuckled. She giggled and took ahold of his arm. "We shall." She nodded politely and together they left the school.

Alice thought she'd have trouble locating his home, but it wasn't that hard. It was a nice small home that was noticeably only housing one person. He surprised her a little to see that he wasn't yet married. He was just so handsome and successful...maybe he was and he lost his wife? She asked herself, but then quickly shook her head. She couldn't start assuming things like that. But if it were true, she would be able to relate to him since she herself lost both her parents not long ago. Alice picked up her skirts as she climbed the steps to his home and smoothed them back down before lightly knocking.

Aaliyah made her way down the side walk. Wincing every time she stepped down. The pain was all over her and she couldn't take it anymore. Shaking it off because she had too. It was the only way she could get a new dress. Taking a deep breath to hold in the pain. Maybe guy will sweep her off her feet and take her away to far enough place. Turning the corner to the dress shop. Opening the door slowly as she did a light bell ring. Glancing in there was so many dresses and she wanted them all. Her eyes picked out a few of them that were way to fancy to where everyday until she bought a new one. It wouldn't matter she would be leaving soon anyways. She was caught up in the day dream of having all them. She just stood in the middle of the isle away looking in awe.

Jayden heard the knock. He smiled some as he got walked to the door. Fumbling as he reached for the door. Though he caught himself before he stood up straight to make himself like presentable. Opening the door. "Good day I will lead you to my teaching room and we can jump right into it." Not looking at her just turning around walking to his the room. "Over there is a small table with stuff for our first subject which English. I will let you get settled as then we explain everything to" Walking to his desk moving his tie a little bit which was one of the many things he did when he was nervous.

ᎻꮖꮐꮋᏞꭺꭰꭹ (hollywaug) Arm in arm, Michael led Cora into town and into the small and only dress shop they had, but it was still pretty great if he had to vote on it. "What kind of dress would you like, Cora? Or I should ask what colour?" Cora pursed her lips then smiled. "Oh I'd just love a blue dress. Like the colour of a robins egg." She gushed. "Robins egg blue coming right up." He chuckled and turned down an isle. There was the blue fabric Cora wanted hanging there but a girl was in the way. It didn't take Michael long to realize that it was the girl; the one in so much pain. Michael left Cora by the buttons and slowly walked Up to the girl. "Excuse me miss?"

Alice smiled sweetly when he answered the door. "Good morning." She greeted and nodded as he told her where they'd be doing their lessons. Just by his fast he talked at the way he played with his tie told Alice that he was indeed nervous, which she didn't quite know why. Alice took off her hat and followed him to the small classroom he made. "Oh this is lovely." She smiled, meaning her words.

Aaliyah eyes widened some when she heard the voice of the person who tried helping her early this morning. "Yes" Replying ever so sweetly. "Oh I'm in your way. Sorry" Moving out of his way as she took a real quick glance at him. "Now excuse me I have to find a dress." Walking around some more. Finding a dress wasn't hard, picking one on the other hand was hard. Her eyes were drawn to a beautiful long sliver dress. It had layer of silk ruffles and regular fabric at the bottom. Three bows were one on each side of the straps and one below the left strap. Then to it together there was a bow tied in the back. The only problem was it was a ball gown. She would try it on, but she was dirty and people would see the scars and bruises that were covered by her dress. All the dresses she liked would show the bruises and scars she had.

Smiling some to himself. "Thank you" Turning around slowly to take a look at her. "I'm glad you like it. You can set your hat on the coat rack" He offered. "Just tell me when you are ready because we have a lot of get done today. I don't want you to feel overwhelmed so if I go a little to fast just tell me to slow down." Pausing a little bit to make sure she was following along. "Starting tomorrow you can just come in and start the morning warm up which will be one for each of three subjects we will covering. If there is an some extra you want to learn just tell me and I can teach you that as well. I have anything from a different languages to sciences." He told her. Was he talking to much? Was he doing this right? Its just and introduction he told himself he need to calm down and be positive everything will go right.

ᎻꮖꮐꮋᏞꭺꭰꭹ (hollywaug) "It's quite alright Miss." He said softly, staring at the girl intently. Although he couldn't see any bruises, he has an assumption that some where there under her tattered dress. He caught her looking at the silver ball gown, and he was just about to ask her if she liked to dance, but Cora spoke up. "Did you find it, Michael?" She asked. Michael snapped out of his thoughts. "Yes Cora. Just picking out the fabric." He called back, gently taking a roll of the robin egg blue cloth.
Alice nodded and hung up her hat like he instructed. Today she wasn't wearing a coat because the weather warmed up some, and honestly it wash a hassle to have. There was just to many buttons. Like a robot? Alice nodded along to his words as she took a seat at the desk and placed her tattered copy of Pride and Prejudice on the edge of her desk along with a piece of paper and a pencil. "Sir, may I make a confession?" She murmured softly. Her cheeks turned a light pink,

Aaliyah could picture herself in that dress or any of the ball gowns or fancy dresses that princesses wear. Who was she kidding she wasn't a princess or pretty. Just plain old girl who got had too many scars. As she looked around there was way too many choices of dresses all ready made let alone the chances to make a dress by hand. She finally decided the on the ugliest brown and yellow dress with red imprints on it. Not because she liked it, but because she wouldn't ruin any of the pretty dresses. The sleves were long and fluffy and would cover her whole back.

Jayden wasn't really paying attention to her at all. Too busy in his own head really. "So the next line of business is the first chapter of Pride and Prejudiced. Telling from the beginning of the book do you know why she wrote it?" He asked. "You have two journals one you will write down questions and things pertaining to English the other one is for you to write personal thoughts" Looking at her. "Did you need to ask something?"

ᎻꮖꮐꮋᏞꭺꭰꭹ (hollywaug) Michael had the shop owner cut off the right amount of fabric for the dress to be made, watching the girl closely. There was no way she likes that dress. He even admitted to himself that it was ugly. But he could tell she wasn't buying it for taste wise. There was much more to it, and he wanted to get to the bottom of it. "That's enough thank you. Yes, your model is right over there by the bows. Her name is Cora. She's blind so go easy on her please." He told the tailor then shuffled over to the girl. "I never got to properly introduce myself." He smiled. "I'm Michael. I've seen you often enough so.."

Alice blinked as he went on, seeming to ignore her comment. At first she was a little crossed at that, but he seemed nervous enough. The last thing she wanted to do was make it all worse for him by opening her mouth. So she just sat there quietly, mentally adding journals to her shopping list. She also went over the first chapter of the book in her head, answering his question mentally but not out loud. When he addressed her, she blushed again. "Yes. I said that I have a confession."

Looking up at him slowly. "I'm sorry I don't remember" She informed him. "I have to be going can't spend my time talking to silly boy father wouldn't be to happy." Picking the dress up and going to the cashier waiting for the tailor to get done with the dress so she could pay for it and get back home. Of course she didn't have a father or a mother, but she thought he didn't need to know that. Tapping her foot getting impatiently. "Hurry up please."

"I'm sorry ma'ma I'm busy helping this young lady right now." He wasn't going to say she was blind.

"I don't care rightly I have to get home right now. I was here first if you don't know how to wait on your customers properly father will come here and buy this place out." Of course there was some truth in the fact that she had to get home.

The waiter looked up. "I'll be right back." He said to Cora as he rung up the dress and she paid for. After that she rushed out of the store to home.

Jayden looked at her. "I have provide you with all your necessary supplies as you can see the journals on the pile for English." He said. "What kind of confession that you already read the book? No biggie the first book is about deciphering and looking for deeper meaning. Its about being analytical. So go ahead right down that question." He said urging her to do it. "At the end of the week I will collect both and grade them" He said looking at her. "Any questions so far?"

ᎻꮖꮐꮋᏞꭺꭰꭹ (hollywaug) Michael watched the exchange go down with his brows furrowed. He didn't understand why she was being so sour, especially to Cora. "I'm terribly sorry Cora." Michael touched her arm assuringly.
"Do you know her?" She asked.
Michael bit his lip. "Sort of... No, I guess not." He shook his head. "Come on and get your fitting done with," he helped her back on the raised platform.

Alice was a little annoyed that he seemed to already know her secret. She sighed and nodded, picking up her pencil and scribbling down what he told her to. She the shook her head, keeping her eyes on her paper." No sir."

As she walked in the door she went to the bathroom and bathed then she slipped into her dress. Aaliyah walked down the stairs slowly. Her uncle looked at her and so did her aunt. "You are an embarrassment picking the ugliest dress ever" Her aunt said. Her uncle got up and pick her by the hair and drag her up the steps and threw her on the floor. She landed on the floor hitting her head on the bed rest. Blood starting dripping down her clean. Cuts and scrapes from yesterday started bleeding again her head had enormous pain. "Get out and don't come back until late tonight we don't need an embarrassment here in our house" Nodding her head slowly she limped her way to the door and soon found herself in alley behind a large building that looked like a school. Hoping she was safe behind there.

Jayden looked up at her."Did I upset you by something?" He asked noticing she looked annoyed. Did he already mess up? Did she hate learning already. A thousand questions were going through his head. He shook it off. Who cares what she thought of him he was a teacher. He did because this was his first job and a chance to make it big. "I'm sorry if I upset you." Pausing some to go over some things pertaining to English. "The last thing is at the end of each week there will be quiz on the chapter we covered for each book. Then at then we will have a writing essay as well as a final. We probably will throw some grammar lessons, but I'm pretty sure your efficient in that?" Leaving it as question he didn't want to assume anything

ᎻꮖꮐꮋᏞꭺꭰꭹ (hollywaug) A few minutes later Cora's fitting was done and the tailor gave Michael a slip of paper that said when he should come back and get the dress. "Thank you sir." He smiled and took Cora's arm and began I lead her out of the dress shop and down the street towards the school. "I'm so relieved that I got out of lessons this morning." She sighed happily.
Michael chuckled. "What did you miss this morning?"
"Arithmetic." She giggled.
Michael sighed teasingly. "You know I'm going to have to help you catch up." He said as they neared the school.

Alice ignored his question about upsetting her. She wasn't upset, just a little annoyed but hot at him. She didn't realize how difficult it was going to be coming back to school. When he mentioned grammar, Alice bit her lip hard. She seemed like a bright student but when it came to grammar she was horrible at it. She missed school when grammar was a part of her learning, so she didn't know much. "I'm not where I should be with my grammar." She murmured softly.
