A World Without Sun discussion

Lucy looked up at Sam but stayed silent. She wasn't going to take her, no one did.

Sam offered her hand to the girl, "I know you've heard this hundreds of times, but I want to be your mommy." She knew how much it hurt to see families leave all the time.

Lucy stared at the woman then her hand then back to her face.
Her supervisor pulled the girl from behind her and softly nudged her forward towards Sam.
Lucy frowned and studied Sam for away before slowly putting her gloved hand in hers.

Sam smiled lightly, "are you ready to go home?"

Lucy shrugged and looked down.

Sam bit her lip and stood, not letting go of the girl's hand. She looked at the supervisor; who was a bit taller then her, "we'll take care of her," was she one if the supervisors who actually cared? He took the back pack from the woman and put it's small strap over her shoulder.

Lucy held the woman's hand tighter, suprised that she wasn't joking when she said that she wanted to be her mommy.

Sam walked Lucy over to Mario, "this is your new daddy."

"hi." Mario smiled at Lucy kindly.
Lucy hid behind Sam's leg.

Sam smiled at the little girl; she'd almost forgotten how small kids were, "he won't hurt you, I promise."

Lucy shook her head and clung to Sam's pants leg.

She knelt down, "hey," she whispered, "he's not so scary," she assured her. When Lucy shook her head again, Sam sighed lightly, "do you want to go home and meet your big brothers and sisters?"

Lucy bit her lip and looked up at her new mom scared at the thought of meeting new people.

"There nice, I'll keep you safe," she promised.

Lucy nodded.

Sam nodded and stood again. She walked Lucy out to the car and helped her into the back. She got in the back with the girl.

Lucy gave Sam a small smile and played with her gloves.
Mario got in and started driving them home.
