Deirdre Skaggs (deirdre04) | 2 comments Not sure if this is the best place to post this question, but here goes:

I am linking to books with HTML and the clickable link then connects to the incorrect book. For example, when I link to Portraits by Stef Ann Holm (by typing book: and the book title, surrounded by square brackets), the clickable link takes me to Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

This has happened to me quite frequently. As a Goodreads librarian, can I fix it? If so, how? If not, what can I do or who should I tell?

Thanks!

This Is Not The Michael You're Looking For | 949 comments Don't use the form "book: title surrounded by square brackets" It often often often often does not work.

Instead, use the "add book/author" link found in-and-around comment boxes and similar sorts of places where you might want to put links. It will work way better.

Your other option is to find the book page you want and use the full html link like you would with any normal webpage.

This Is Not The Michael You're Looking For | 949 comments In fact, they should probably remove all mention of "book: title in square brackets" from all of the help pages and "formatting tips" screens.

In future, this is also not the right group for such requests. That would be the Feedback group.

Deirdre Skaggs (deirdre04) | 2 comments Thank you; I will use the "add book/author" link from now on.

And I will take questions to the Feedback group. =)
