Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments Well, the Scottish meeting never quite got going. I'm afraid I was unable to be too active on that.

However, I was thinking of a repeat event in biggleswade in January.

I got told off for not giving enough notice last time.

Anyone interested?

I don't mind doing one at a more convenient location but this depends on someone else finding a venue.

What do you think?

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Well im up for that. Hoping I will be a bit closer to biggleswade by that time.

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments You seem to be close to everywhere gl. Omnipresent.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Only in the virtual sense...

Sam Kates Would it be open to any group members - even the less active ones?

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments Sam wrote: "Would it be open to any group members - even the less active ones?"

Of course.

message 8: by Sam (new)

Sam Kates Then I'll try to make it. It would be good to be able to put faces to names.

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments Early days yet Sam but you will be most welcome. I still need to check dates.

message 10: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments I am in London from the 3rd to the 7th. Although I am busy on the 4th (play - reason I'm going over)

Nicola Palmer | 255 comments Loved the last get-together. Would definitely try to make the next one :)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Not sure if I could make a meet in January.

We have to be back in Baku for work on the 6th.

But don't worry about that. Sort a day that suits the most.

message 13: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I'm not sure I could make January :o(

message 17: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Is there a bus from Luton to Biggleswade?

message 18: by Steven (new)

Steven | 173 comments ashamed to say I don't even know where biggleswade is! lol

T4bsF (Call me Flo) (time4bedsaidflorence) ...you are not alone!!

message 20: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I googled it

message 21: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Lawston (andrewlawston) | 1774 comments I'm absolutely up for this in principle, depending mildly on the exact date, etc...

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Afraid I'll have to leave all of the organising of this up to Simon.

I'll mither him to get started on sorting it but he seems mad busy at the moment.

message 23: by Darren (new)

Darren Humphries (darrenhf) | 6903 comments In principle I'm there - given time for childcare arrangements et al.

message 24: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I'm up for it depending on funds I'm running rather low but flights to Luton are only £70 ish so I could maybe manage depending on price of accomodation and travel to & from airport.

message 25: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments I'd be happy to give anyone a lift from vaguely en-route from Bury St Edmunds (east anglia) to Biggleswade.

Cheers

MTM

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Phnark! Sadly not.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Will might be able to help there.

message 32: by Sam (new)

Sam Kates S'okay. I was teasing. If I can make it, I'm already looking forward to the train journey - been a while since I took a long trip by rail.

message 33: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I quite fancy a train journey but it's £170!!

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Will wrote: "I'm up for it too. Anytime.

Hussy.

message 35: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Oh found return tickets for £142, bargain.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Jud (Disney Diva) wrote: "I quite fancy a train journey but it's £170!!"

That's cheap at half the price!

Ermmmm..

A flight a bit more though...I think.

I should check.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments £450.

Eep.

message 38: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments Jud (Disney Diva) wrote: "Oh found return tickets for £142, bargain."

I might get it for £104 but that's a six hour trip and apparently I'm expected to sleep on the station platform at Lancaster on the way home.

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments Interesting, I could get from NB to Biggleswade and back for £70ish by train in January and I must be further away than you Jim. It's the number of changes I suppose. Six and a half hours each way though...

How could you pass up the adventure, Jim?

message 41: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments I'll be in the Guildhall in Bedford on 9 & 10 November, by the way.

For the Festival of Romance.

I'm researching chat up lines. So far the best is from Mike Harding: You don't sweat much for a fat lass, do yer?

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments So your going to be collecting slaps then are you?

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Simon can help you with the chat up lines.

He's smoooooth.

message 44: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Old fashioned.....

This arm is leaving in 5 minutes. I want you to be on it.

You really need to be able to roll up your sleeves and produce a bicep like the Hulk's for it to work.

message 45: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments I have a bicep like The Hulk's!

Sadly it's one of the small plastic Hulk's, and my arm is in a 1:1 ratio.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Did you know that merlot melts muscles Will?

message 48: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments Great! The last lot I cooked were a bit tough. next time I'll add some merlot.

message 49: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments Patti (baconater) wrote: "How could you pass up the adventure, Jim? ..."

In my youth I slept in bus shelters and railway stations and did such like adventurous things.
A little older I feel ready for newer fields of adventure....
I've often felt that someone ought to pay me vast sums of money for my writing just so as I can prove that it wouldn't spoil me

The follow up to that line is "Make your mind up, it's either you or a tattoo"

:-)
