Here's an in-depth explanation on how the cover categories (CC) work
Let's say the CC called is single woman, then your team might read the following:
team member 1
team member 2
team member 3
You may choose any genre to read as long as the cover works for what's called. And you don't have to finish the book before the next CC is called, but when/if your team starts to get 3 or 4 in a row you'll want to concentrate on getting those books done first.
Also, when you finish a book all you have to do is post what book you read, the dates you read it (start and finish), your rating, and your review (you can copy & paste it or just post a link to it - whichever is easier). Once all members of a team have read a book for the CC, your captain will let me know and I will stamp your card.
You can all read the same book, all read different, or two of you read the same and one different - whatever you want. The cover just has to match whatever is called.

WAYS TO WIN:
Five in a row (any direction), the four corners or a postage stamp in any corner would all be a valid bingo. Here's a picture that shows what each of them are:

I know this picture shows two postage stamps, but only one would be required.

REMEMBER:
➜ Every other Friday one of the categories will be called (the same one for all teams). You then have to find a book that matches it. Once you've read it, write a review letting us know what you thought (a few lines is fine) and then post it in your team thread.
➜ All formats of books are allowed for this challenge.
➜ Books must be at least 150 pages long (if reading an ebook, please check the paperback or hardcover edition for page count).
➜ Re-reads are allowed if it's been 6 months or more since you last read it and you read it cover-to-cover.
➜ Challenge begins: October 25, 2013
➜ Ends: when the first team calls a valid bingo

Book Cover BINGO - FREE SPACE
Read: Twice Promised by Maggie Brendan
Started: October 25th
Finished: October 26th
Rating: ★
REVIEW:
The writing on this book was all right, not great or good just all right, but the reason I'm giving it such a low rating is the characters were just horrible! For a book sold in the Christian fiction genre the way the characters behaved was so opposite of that and there were no repercussions for it. What happened may have been meant to be amusing, but I just found it sickening and very unbelievable. Any shred of respect I had for the characters in the beginning was gone and I just couldn't wait to be done with the book. I can't really say what the reason was without giving away key details and, in case you plan on ignoring my review and reading it anyway, I don't want to spoil it for you. However, if you'd like to know what it is just ask me and I'll let you know. I don't recommend Twice Promised at all.

I'm going to be reading
for crown. Has anyone else made decisions yet?
Also, I sent out an message to all members and, so far, no one has said they want to participate. So I'm going to ask if the other teams mind if we just have three players.

My Review:
Reading this book was like going to go see old friends. Mandie and her friends are characters that are somewhat special to me, even years since reading a full Mandie Mystery.
It has been years since I fully read this book, so I forgot quite a bit of it. What I did notice is how juvenile it is, and Mandie seemed a bit snobbish... That doesn't make it bad, I enjoyed it over all, but it's definitely meant for a younger reading audience. There also really wasn't a huge mystery(took over halfway through the book to get to the part on the cover). I don't remember noticing this when I was younger, but, then again, I was more for the whole "Mandie/Joe thing" ;-).
I'd recommend this book for younger readers.

Here's a list (from listopia) of 20 books that have a crown on them: https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/3...

It's okay right now, but I'm not sure how I'll like it overall.
Book Cover BINGO - CROWN/TIARA
Read: Royal Marriage (Protecting The Crown #1) by Rachelle McCalla
Started: November 16th
Finished: December 15th
Rating: ★★ 1/2
Review:
I went into A Royal Marriage thinking I would love it as it is a historical and set in the Middle Ages, a time I've been coming to recently read more of and have been loving. However, I wasn't very far into this book before it started to grate on my nerves.
The first time Gisela and John meet she is so near death that she has less than a day to live unless she gets a specific treatment in time, but she doesn't come across as that ill except to be a little weak. Then her recovery is so quick it's really unbelievable.
It was annoying how many times Gisela's looks were brought up, especially when John is thinking this right when he first meets her and she's injured...with her eyes swollen shut and a gash on her face. I know this should be sweet, but it just came across as weird to me that that was his first thought of her.
This book just wasn't for me. I haven't read any of this author's other books, and am not sure if I will, but if you have and enjoyed them maybe you'd enjoy reading A Royal Marriage.

Yes it is! Once in a while is okay, but when it's almost all that is mentioned as to why someone likes a person it gets very annoying...especially in Christian fiction.

How are your books progressing? Finish any that would work for the free space? Remember the only requirement is that you started it after the beginning of the challenge (October 25th).
I've changed my mind on my mask book and started
, so far it's okay. I'm not loving it, but I'll probably finish it.
