Here's an in-depth explanation on how the cover categories (CC) work


Let's say the CC called is single woman, then your team might read the following:

team member 1
team member 2
team member 3

You may choose any genre to read as long as the cover works for what's called. And you don't have to finish the book before the next CC is called, but when/if your team starts to get 3 or 4 in a row you'll want to concentrate on getting those books done first.

Also, when you finish a book all you have to do is post what book you read, the dates you read it (start and finish), your rating, and your review (you can copy & paste it or just post a link to it - whichever is easier). Once all members of a team have read a book for the CC, your captain will let me know and I will stamp your card.

You can all read the same book, all read different, or two of you read the same and one different - whatever you want. The cover just has to match whatever is called.

WAYS TO WIN:


Five in a row (any direction), the four corners or a postage stamp in any corner would all be a valid bingo. Here's a picture that shows what each of them are:

I know this picture shows two postage stamps, but only one would be required.

REMEMBER:

➜ Every other Friday one of the categories will be called (the same one for all teams). You then have to find a book that matches it. Once you've read it, write a review letting us know what you thought (a few lines is fine) and then post it in your team thread.

➜ All formats of books are allowed for this challenge.
➜ Books must be at least 150 pages long (if reading an ebook, please check the paperback or hardcover edition for page count).
➜ Re-reads are allowed if it's been 6 months or more since you last read it and you read it cover-to-cover.

➜ Challenge begins: October 25, 2013
➜ Ends: when the first team calls a valid bingo

The first category has been called and it is CANDLE. I just happened to see it on here tonight.

I had to Google book covers with candles, but I found one that I think I'll like. I will read:

Hope you enjoy it! I am reading Julie Lessman's A Passion Redeemed right now. Once I am done with it, I will start my candle book. I may end up doing instead. I know that last Book Cover Bingo it was ok to do the same book on one team. I will just wait till A Passion Redeemed is done to decide. I love Julie's books but for some reason just hadn't realized it was a candle in that window...but it obviously is :-)

Yeah I actually hadn't realized it was a candle either until I saw that it was one of the ones posted on the cover help thread. I've been debating whether or not I wanted to read any of her books, but since I needed one for candle I figured I'd give it a shot! Glad to hear you're enjoying her books! :D

Finished Here Burns my Candle. My husband is away on a men's retreat this weekend, so I had "free" time. Posted my review. Rated it 4 stars. Great historical read, loved the romance of both the mother-in-law and Elisabeth.

I read The Noticer Returns for my free space. Andy Andrews is one of my favorite authors. This book is a must read for everyone!

I don't know why the format came up as audio, but I read the book - the hardcover edition! Because I am still a hold-the-book-in-my-hand person. :-)
