Isadora’s family is seriously screwed up.

Of course, as the human daughter of Egyptian gods, that pretty much comes with the territory. She’s also stuck with parents who barely notice her, and a house full of relatives who can’t be bothered to remember her name. After all, they are going to be around forever—and she’s a mere mortal.

Isadora’s sick of living a life where she’s only worthy of a passing glance, and when she has the chance to move to San Diego with her brother, she jumps on it. But Isadora’s quickly finding that a “normal” life comes with plenty of its own epic complications—and that there’s no such thing as a clean break when it comes to family. Much as she wants to leave her past behind, she can’t shake the ominous dreams that foretell destruction for her entire family. When it turns out there may be truth in her nightmares, Isadora has to decide whether she can abandon her divine heritage after all.

Finished this one last week and it was a huge disappointment. ;(

I thought this will be as good as Mind Games.

No. You're right - it is definitely the worst book out of all of her's that I have read, and I've read almost all of them.

I've started, still on chapter 3. I'm quite enjoying it. It seems to have a similar tack to Percy Jackson.

I've never read percy jackson! ☺ The mythology stuff is similar to though which I'm also reading!

I'm about halfway through, and I have one thing that is bothering me:

(view spoiler)[ Isadora and Horus are full sibligns, right? Then why is Horus a god and Isadora an ordinary human? (by ordinary I mean that she has no special powers other than the language thing).

And I'm betting that Ry is the son of Aphrodite and Hephaestus. (hide spoiler)]

Oh, one more thing, is this book going to have a sequel?

I have no clue on the relationships really. I got really lost! This is the first book of a series, but I'm wondering if the second book will be about different people, and will be more of a companion book, like the pushing the limits series.

Feel quite detached from the characters..

I also feel detached from everything.. maybe it'll get better..

chapter 9

(view spoiler)[this could have been way better if it was a romantic chick-lit.. Ry and Isadora's love talk is pretty cliche :( and Isadora is really judgmental it's hard to like her (hide spoiler)]

I'm only around two chapters in and i'm enjoying the characters.

Oh dear, since ashwag rated it 1 star I might pass this time. I'm only about 10%. I might revisit this soon but for now going to my other planned buddy reads. Should really plan so that I can handle them all. sorry!
