The previews make it look beautiful but they also look like they ruin the twist or that there just isn't a twist. Anyone planning on seeing this one? I have a $5 fandango credit burning a hole in my pocket so I may check it out, but not this weekend.

Robert | 9 comments I watched a few trailers, and I didn't see anything about the real twist. I don't think you read the book, correct? i don't want to ruin anything for anyone because the twist is a big deal.

I have read it, one of my favorite books. The twist is a huge deal, but I am hearing that it isn't in the movie.

Robert | 9 comments That is very interesting, becasue the twist says a lot about Ender's moral fabric. I hope Card would make sure the twist was in there to protect his character. Otherwise Ender becomes a monster in my eyes.

I think it is there for Ender but the audience is aware of what is going on.

Robert | 9 comments Did you read the shadow series? From what I hear the 2 books are what makes the movie. When you combine the 2 books, that make perfect sence.

I did read the first one. It was great. If that is what they did, it does make more sense. I guess the only whay to make an Ender's Shadow movie was to film in concurrently.

Robert | 9 comments I personally think the shadow series is better than the rest of the Enders series. its a much more fluent series. But then Enders Game was written after speaker so its not a natural pregression.

Reid Kemper (ReidKemper) | 5 comments I don't think the trailer revealed the main plot twist. Besides, the book is old and many of the people who watch the movie would already know it. It's like me telling you that Samus Aran from the first Metroid game is actually female. Oops, sorry if I spoiled the plot twist for those who don't know.

Timothy (jeditimothy) | 4 comments the movie is great :) and you will love the twist the only thing i wish they would've done was make it a two parter :(

Angus Saw the movie and it definitely lived up to the book. I celebrate the people who made that movie great in spite of the author.

Adam (amilesb) | 27 comments How would you guys rate the action of this movie? Good CGI?

message 13: by Reid (new) - rated it 5 stars

Reid Kemper (ReidKemper) | 5 comments I really enjoyed the movie. It lived up to my expectations and was how I remembered the book. In response to Adam, the CGI was good. There wasn't any action that wasn't in the book, so there wasn't much, but the pacing was great and there was no dull moment. The only thing major missing was Ender's thoughts, which were in the book but naturally couldn't be displayed in the movie. The actor did a great job of converting external emotions.

That's awesome I can't wait to check it out. Yeah, movies can never capture what goes on inside a character's head and when they start narrating I'm like is this just an audio book with pictures?

Yrani Gami | 1 comments I heard that Valentine and his brother were not in the film. If thats true, how can Enders character be understood in the same triumvate context as in the novel? It would be like having a Star Trek movie without Spock or Bones! (Which is partly the reason the new Trek series is lacking despite CGI considerations!)

I don't think the new Trek films are lacking so much as the old films create typecasts we are too strongly associated with. I think the only way the films can be successful is to do more of a Christopher Nolan re-take on Batman that completely changes the aura around the character(s). I think to some extent the writers tried to do that by resetting the timeline but by and large they are still trying too hard for the new characters to fill the big shoes left by the old ones.

Reid Kemper (ReidKemper) | 5 comments Yrani, Ender's brother and sister are in the movie but it leaves out their subplot, which I expected. It does show how they contrast and how Ender doesn't want to be like his brother.

Aline I have the hook beside my bed but I didnt have time to read yet but I just watched the movie and its great.

I can never read a book after I see the movie. The film taints my ability to imagine what the world and characters look like.

Timothy (jeditimothy) | 4 comments I all ways read the book first. The book was a fantastic read the movie good though I thought it be better if it was in two parts :( they left out a lot from both battle school and command school :(
