Mollydee | 193 comments I did not know what category to pick. The following is a new release but not in horror. In another group of mine we were talking about bad blurbs. Now sorry in advance but to me, all YA is like this "No one really noticed Lily, therefore they did not know what secrets she held inside. She just went about her boring life in High School. Then she got a summer job and met Mark. With his curly brown hair and deep green eyes and it changed her life forever. But there is a dark secret about Mark. Will either of their lives every be the same" That is what they all look like to me. So I came across this gem today. If this is the future I am scared. I hope none of you have seen anything like this. Maybe this is what is being done now. It would be effective for horror!!! That is how this all ties in lol! But I still think this blurb is not a good one.

What do you think? Two thumbs up?

Kate | 3525 comments I just watched this, way too long IMO. Not sure what this was all about but I think I got distracted by the half naked men. :)

Shari-amor | 363 comments Was it suppose to be so long!? I watched a minute and quit....pretty much my reaction to most YA. That wasnt a blurb, that was the entire story.

Ken B | 6810 comments I think you need to mentally separate YA from the teenie paranormal romance crap that seems to be prevalent now. There are a great number of good YA authors that are putting out some really good material right now, for instance Joseph Delaney and F.E. Higgins just to name two. Saying all YA is garbage is like saying that all horror is crap, which we all know is not true.

Yes again I did not want to mention the length. I think the idea would work if it was shorter. And not Ya lol!

I agree and I apologize I did not mean to come off like that. It is basically that preview that I had you click on, that is the YA that drives me nuts. I have read two very good YA novels recently. I agree the stuff that is popular now is really bad. And I tried to read one. But yes I have heard people say (she gasps!) All horror is the same and we do know that is way off base.

Yeah with the content, it didn't seem like it should be a YA story

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments I stopped after a minute in. It's too long in my opinion and comes off kind of corny. Yes, it tells a good story but maybe shes giving away too much? It was nicely done but I just think the content and the length are a bit much.

oh no doubt it was too long. and definitely corny. I do think she gave away too much also. But the meat of it is is this something more authors will be doing. Because if you do it the right way, it would not be a bad idea. It would change book blogs for sure! I will give it up for it being very well done.
