Ayeiska Throughout the series I kept wondering if this is a romance series and if something in line with paranormal romance would follow and I feel like I am just going to keep waiting aren't I?

No, it's not a paranormal romance series. It's a dark urban fantasy series with romance. Since the romance isn't the main part of the plot, it takes time to develop. I remember there being sexual tension but it takes them a while to actually become a couple.
I didn't care for Jericho Barrons -- I just thought he was an asshole -- but other people seem to really like the romance between Jericho and MacKayla.

~*~Princess Nya Vasiliev~*~ I'm not a huge fan of Urban Fantasy. Mainly cos UF usually follows the theme of no romance at all or romance in the mix with the plot but it's not at the forefront of the story. I'm a PNR girl at heart. So this is why I usually don't invest in reading a UF series/novel. Though there are some UF gems out there & I would have to say this series is one of em. I do love this series. I feel like it does push the envelope when it comes to the romance/sexual aspect in a UF series. It goes places that most UF's won't go. I think that's what kept the right amount of spice/heat for me in this series. The fact that I absolutely loved the plot was a definite plus. And I really loved the Jericho& MacKayla dynamic.

Shaye I really enjoyed the building romance in the Fever series between Barrons and Ms. Lane. I loved Jericho. I didn't like how they got together for their first time. I wished she hadn't been Pri-ya but it only built more tension which made me absolutely ecstatic when they finally get together as a couple in Shadowfever. Very well written.

Michelle I loved the tension and felt it was so much more rewarding than graphic, repeated sexual scenes. I found that I lingered over every word Barrons spoke. Karen brilliantly keeps the reader on the edge of their seat!

Ayeiska Okay. I'll just keep reading and wait it out. :)

Hang in there. I almost gave up after FaeFever (hated the end) but the series turned out surprisingly good. It was worth it.

~*~Princess Nya Vasiliev~*~ Book 3 was actually my fave book in the series. but overall I think the series is awesome.

Hi Melissa, no, but I enjoyed the Fever series so much that one day I will read the Highlander series. Right now I really looking forward to reading Iced, and then I understand there are two more Fever books coming out and the next one gets back to Jerrico and Mac.

Ayeiska Why are is she making more? Were there a lot of unresolved questions in Shadowfever?

Dee the new books are more about Dani, rather than Mac/Barrons - I actually enjoyed Iced a lot more than I expected to

Oh....you should read her highlander series. I love her Fever series but her Highlander series is my all time favorite. In the fever series they introduce the Kelter Clan. The Highlander series are the Kelter Clan stories.

I've only read a few books of her Highlander series. They're not really my cuppa. I think I've read 3 of her highlander books & those were read out of order.

I cant remember which highlander book I read 1st, but I do know it wasn't the 1st book in that series. Then like a year or so later I read her Fever series. Then went back & read 2 more of her highlander books.

Stephanie I loved the fever series! I haven't read Iced yet but it's on my list. I am planning to read Highlander also.

I have had the same feeling.I like her Highlander series better.

Jennie I loved this series, although it took me a while to get into it. I loved the romance between JZB and Mac but you're right. It's not the focus of the book. I completely relate to what Michelle said about lingering over every word Barrons spoke. I looked forward to him coming around, even if all he did was walk across the room. He had a presence to him that's unlike any other character I've read about. I almost stopped reading the series after the third book because I hated the ending but I'm glad I didn't. Definitely, stick with the series. It's one of the fave.

If you plan to read Iced afterwards, just be aware that it's told from Dani's perspective and there isn't much about Barrons and Mac in it, though I think that may be changing in the second book. I enjoyed Iced more than I thought I would, but I still think the fever series is better.
