Novin OK, now that majority voted on reading James Potter and the Hall of Elders' Crossing , we need a discussion leader for the group read. Any candidates? And then we will have a poll.

Novin No one? Shall we choose one of the moderators?

message 3: by Annalisa (last edited Jun 17, 2009 10:38AM) (new)

Annalisa (goodreadsannalisa) I don't know that I'll read it. I don't like fan fiction or reading on the computer. I may skim over it a little, but I don't know that I'll read the whole thing. So I think I'm out.

Novin Aaha, ok.

Novin So, until now, I've got replies from :

Meghan- 431 comments
Savannah Morrow- 204 comments
Keegan- 52 comments
Shinedown Fan(Ariel)- 47 comments
Jen(Rev Jen)- 1 comment
Ruler Of Vampires- 1 comment
Lady Ellen
Teshara
Ira Rupina

I just post it here, 'cause i needed to keep track of the replies :P . (and well, give others a chance to take a look at the members who are willing to be discussion leaders)

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

I've read them both and I don't mind doing it. I just don't know much about how the group handles discussions.

message 7: by Savannah (new)

Savannah Morrow (SCMorrow) | 319 comments I haven't read it yet, but I am really excited about doing it!

message 8: by Novin (new)

Novin OK, as the poll shows, I guess the discussion leader for JP&the hall of elders' crossing is Meghan, and the discussion leader for JP&the curse of the gate keeper is Jen. (for the next group reads, I guess we will choose Savannah & Keegan)
Any comments?

They're online so you should have access to them. I think.

ஐ Katya (Book Queen)ஐ (katyabookqueen) Anyone with internet access can download the free James Potter ebooks.

ஐ Katya (Book Queen)ஐ (katyabookqueen) To make it easier for everyone to find these wonderful stories...

Each novel is just under or over 400 pages. The author cannot sell it for money as it's Harry Potter fanfic so it's free to give away as an ebook. (That's also why you can't buy a printed version). Click on the GoodReads link for the books and you can download it as a free ebook right off Goodreads.

James Potter and the Hall of Elders' Crossing

James Potter and the Curse of the Gate Keeper

If you go to the author's website (where you can also download the first two books), there are also 3 short stories you can download (12 pages each): http://www.harrysfirstchristmas.com/

Harry's First Christmas, A Maurader's Christmas story
Merlin's Gift, A Founder's Christmas Story
Petra's Getaway, A Petra Morganstern Christmas Story

After you've read both JP novels, you might be interesting in Petra's own story, The Girl on the Dock A Dark Fairy Tale. You can buy that story from amazon.com or lulu.com.

The author is writing the third James Potter novel as we speak and is hoping for a Dec 2009 release where he will probably release a chapter a day (free, of course).

ஐ Katya (Book Queen)ஐ (katyabookqueen) Uma wrote: "*faints* Brainsgirl you are Brainsgirl!!!!!!"

Not sure what ya mean, but my fiance's name is Brian, so I am BriansGirl. :)

Are we perhaps in another group together too? (I reposted this here from the Witches, Were's and Vamps, Oh My! Group where I'd originally posted it.

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

I think what Uma was saying is that instead of being BriansGirl you are BrainsGirl....a play on your username. Calling you smart ect.

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

oh, I get it now.... haha

ஐ Katya (Book Queen)ஐ (katyabookqueen) Didn't catch the spelling. lol

message 22: by RinaKat (new)

RinaKat | 480 comments ummmm... so, in Harry's First Christmas, is Harry a baby, and his dad is still alive, so Harry doesn't have a scar?

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes.

message 24: by RinaKat (new)

RinaKat | 480 comments That will be funny to picture. I will keep seeing James with the scar, probably, like I do with the James Potter books.

Annalisa (goodreadsannalisa) Have people been reading The Curse of the Gate Keeper? It looks like Jen was selected as the discussion leader, but we don't have any topics or it. I don't think Novin can get into her goodreads account and she's the one running the James Potter section. Anyone interested in discussing?

And what comes after The Gate Keeper?

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

I did do some topic posts on it but no one really participated in it. The new one should be up at www.jamespotterseries.com

message 27: by Annalisa (new)

Annalisa (goodreadsannalisa) I get the feeling that this group as a whole is dying :(.

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

I'll admit that I'm using Goodreads less as a whole. I add friends but I don't update my books as much as I used to. Between this and Facebook, I tend to devote more time to FB. I'm on level 39 of School of Wizardry. ;o)

I'm just about ready to get rid of FB though.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

I still use GR a lot... Especially since I just bought the "Official App" on my iPod touch. But I do get on http://www.stardoll.com

It is actually pretty amusing because you can have friends and chat and buy stuff and make clubs. Basically like Goodreads only you have your own avatar that you dress up and make a room. Feel free to join!

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh, and if you're looking me up, I'm ShaeWeasley and CrazyPickleGirl.
