Kassandra | -1 comments Great to have you back Holly, it looks like you're making up for lost time!

Thanks for the good luck! I'm starting to panic about them, which I know is stupid, seeing as they don't start til May 22nd...

My firm choice is Loughborough University..."

I did do a degree! I graduated from the University of Sussex with a degree in Art History in 2011 :)

And my best friend went to Loughborough and LOVED it. It is definitely very sporty, and the party scene is absolutely insane! I did not have the stamina to keep up! It seemed like a great uni though from what I saw, great facilities and I even had a peek in the library ;)

Just so I'm announcing this on a thread that gets some traffic - our Group Read polls resulted in three 2-way ties this month! I've opened 3 tie breaker polls for today only, so get your votes in quickly!

Louise Laing Feeling so behind on my reading recently because of all of my Higher course work and my exams start in 2 weeks, yikes. At least i can get some reading in after them as i have 2 weeks study leave, yay. :-)

Louise, I feel the exact same way! My reading has picked up again over Easter, but I'm expecting it to plummet over late May/June!

message 210: by A (new)

A H I'm good...thnx:) wbu??

message 211: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) I'm good. Had a good easter yesterday and went to my first anime convention, MTAC yesterday. I enjoyed myself but my sister brought a friend who tried to cause drama but had fun anyway.

message 212: by Amber (new)

Me! I just can't seem to get into it right now.

message 214: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) no 32 books so far this year lorah

message 215: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) Yep. So its 32 books I've read so far this year. I have a list so I write down what books I've read and it's from January to now. My challenge is to read 1 or more books a week until the end of the year and I am doing well.

message 216: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) Thanks Lorah. I hope you'll be able to catch up. I don't know how many books I'll get to by the end of the years but have done good so far with some pretty good read so after Exposure Virals #4, got two read for review requests, Kingdom Keepers 7 and then I'll go from there.

message 217: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) Hey Lorah it is set in the whole Disney parks: Disney World, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Disneyland, and the Disney cruise line so its all the parks and cruise line. It's a pretty good series. I'm on the final book which was written by ridley pearson and the fans so am sad to see it end.

message 218: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) Awesome Lorah enjoy! :) first one is Disney after dark in the series.

My mum just randomly brought me peanut butter and jam on toast. I've already had breakfast...

Maybe I'm turning into a Hobbit?

Could be! I'm sure you'll always be her little girl. :)

Most likely, she just wants you to remember how cozy it is at home so you still visit... And she's enjoying having you "to herself" for now. It's a very sweet gesture. Go to university...but remember to call your mom. Moms invest so much in us.

message 224: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) Have you guys ever had a nutella sandwich? It's a chocolate peanut butter sandwich it tasted good.

message 225: by Renee, Mistress of the Mini-Challenge (new)

Renee M | 4789 comments Mod
Lol. I had my hands on a jar of Nutella this afternoon!

message 226: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) Awesome Renee! ^_^

message 227: by Amber (new)

Amber, you look great! That sounds like such a fun night!

Renee, I doubt she'd let me lose contact for more than a day or two! I'm hopefully going travelling with my friend to Australia next summer, and I'm then hoping to do a year exchange to Canada. So it's likely, I won't actually be home for like a year and a half! So she's trying to get the most of me that she can now!

CaptKirk42 Classic Whovian (klandersen) | 455 comments Sorry for those who like it but the whole concept of Nutella just does not appeal to me.

CaptKirk42 Classic Whovian wrote: "Sorry for those who like it but the whole concept of Nutella just does not appeal to me."

It's basically a spreadable chocolate bar. What's not appealing? :P

message 231: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) Thanks Holly and it was but didn't get to dance. and okay Captain Kirk sorry you don't like chocolate hazelnut peanut butter spread.

message 232: by Holly, That Geeky One (new)

Holly (hollycoulson) | 1949 comments Mod
I'd never have Nutella on toast, but just eating it on it's own is great!

message 233: by Helena (new)

Helena Buckley | 18 comments same holly!

message 234: by Binit (new)

Binit (monty1984) I support CaptKirk42 Classic Whovian w.r.t Nutella (though perhaps not this choice of name)

Seeing as I'm attempting to procrastinate for as long as possible, I've just re-organised my shelves on Goodreads. I now have categories for genre, when written and type...

I really should do some work...

Holly-
Awesome travel plans!
And, yeah, she's undoubtedly anticipating the empty nest. Teach her to us the internet before you go and get her a GR account! :D

message 237: by Holly, That Geeky One (new)

Holly (hollycoulson) | 1949 comments Mod
I am actually encouraging her to get one. She's been meaning to track her books forever, and hasn't gotten round to doing it.

I somehow doubt the travel plans will come to fruition. I don't think I have the confidence just to go off travelling randomly, even though I'd love to

message 238: by Lucy (last edited Apr 29, 2014 05:58AM) (new)

Lucy Mason (lmason17) | 174 comments Holly - you should definitely try as hard as you can to travel as much as possible! One of my only life regrets is not organising to see the world when I had the money / freedom - now I have 1001 responsibilities it just doesn't seem a possibility any more...

And to join in the Great Nutella Debate - I'm definitely in the dislike camp!

message 239: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 85 comments Definitely go travelling if you have the chance, Holly, as they say you only regret the things you don't do.

Lauren | 85 comments Definitely go travelling if you have the chance, Holly, as they say you only regret the things you don't do. I'm in the Nutella is only good straight out of the jar camp haha.
I've just renewed my library card after about 5 years, which should save me a fortune! I'm also going to see The Tempest on Thursday which I'm quite excited for.

message 241: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) so what's up everyone? :)

message 243: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments Sorry that you're sick Melissa. It must really be bad if you're too sick to read. Get better soon!

I should probably make a new banner for the group!

Anyone in particular have a love for a certain colour? Or perhaps they have some specific words they'd like on it?

message 245: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) hey holly you should make it like yellow and blue since they represent the beach/ocean and make it like a summer theme. May typically starts Summer anyway. ^_^

message 246: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Coyle | 1557 comments Thanks Kassandra, but its dear Sandy who is not feeling well. I just have germy teens breathing on me.

I'll fix the statement above, because I can see where the misunderstanding is coming from. :)

message 247: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments Holly, I'm partial to blue and purple but blue and yellow sounds good for summer too!

I would say yellow. There are lots of daffodils around just now. :)

For the text... something along the lines of "May you fall in love with reading all over again"? Spring is for lovers, after all... including book lovers. ;)

message 250: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) That's awesome! I saw one of the MTAC videos to promote their last anime con theme MTAC in Love their slogan was "May you fall in love with MTAC all over again." That's pretty cool that you mentioned that Faye!
