From Pages to Screens discussion

I would like to have two or three group at once, so I can try to have book for everyone's taste.
Books made into TV Shows and Movies is a large section, so I would like to represent several genres.

Jurassic Park?

I have a few suggestions.
I, of course, am going to have to suggest The Shining.
Also: Coraline, The Help, The Time Traveler's Wife, A Series of Unfortunate Events, and Water for Elephants.
Oh, and Harry Potter!

I'll have to add Jurassic Park to my list of potential group reads.
I'm hoping when we get more people we can have other discussion posts about books turned into movies/shows.

I'll put The Shining, Coraline, The Help, and Water for Elephants on the list Kay. But I want to stay away from Series for group reads because there are so many books in some of the series.

Ah, good point. The Time Traveler's Wife is just one book, though. Unless you don't wanna put that on the list.
Also: The Notebook, The Secret Life of Bees, and The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. (I know the last one is part of a series, but you can read just that one without getting confused.)

What is it about? I have never seen/read it.

I have The Notebook and The Secret Life Of Bees on my list of ones to do at some point.
And that's true about TLTWTW (OMG YOU CAN NOT ABBREVIATE THAT!) i'll have to put that on.
I want to do like one contemporary fiction/chick lit and one mystery/thriller/more serious book a month, and then maybe one fantasy one too. So everyone has something they can pick from.

I've only seen the movie, but I thought it was fantastic!
TTTW (YOU CAN'T ABBREVIATE THAT EITHER!) I just looked it up and I guess that it is part of a series. Oops.

I read the book when I was really young, but don't remember much of it.
