22. Buying books faster than you can read them.
Your bookshelf is basically one giant to-do list.

message 8: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo | 4354 comments yesterday I gave in and bought something to replace the lap table type wicker thing that I had next to my nightstand (between the nightstand and wall which when you open the closet door it goes in front of it) couldn't buy anything big it had to go no further out then 14 inches and from the nightstand to the wall it couldn't be more than 28. I wanted something with a shelf. I originally thought it could be opened in the back. checked the website for container store and it's so expensive I didn't want to spend alot. ended up checking staples and found a 2 shelf bookcase that was perfect ran out to staples and they had the one on display and found another in back so bought it. you have to put it together which was perfect very easy (around $40) went to the new JoAnn's up the highway (were the old borders used to be) found a basket for the top shelf 2 tone with clothe inside for bookmarks then another open wicker one I bout the opposite way for just a few things. the mac sits next to it the bottom shelf I went though bags of books in my room and pulled out pbs that I wanted to read sooner than later so it's mostly trade and pb front and back and on top. it's great I can move the middle shelf. the middle one I just kept a few started books that I need to go back to at some point, the current reads, the nooks, my journal and other notebook for epubs etc. so the second shelf isn't loaded with books yet. don't think I want it to be I like the way it is. of course it took away my spot I had a few things underneath the other thing I used to but now they went into the closet where they should have been in the first place. I think it looks better. except last night I smelled the wood or what ever you want to call it. I don't smell it today
I have to say you would think the amt of books I took out of bags it would look alittle less where the bags are usually but I guess it wasn't enough that I moved.

If I ever get caught up with books maybe I can work my way though the ones I put on it. been spending way too much time online.
hopefully I'll get some good reading down in the next few days. going to the shore.

Yes, I am guilty of so many on this list:
I can't pass up discount racks
I have lack of storage
I have found interesting notes left in library books
I have stood in long lines for a book signing
Many books have inspired road trips.

Ann (annrumsey) | 16930 comments Lorraine: I love that you and Fred have visited so many places to discover for yourself what others have written about and experienced! We can all visit them by proxy from your reports!

Okay, sometimes I take a stroll through some of the posts I missed during the 7 years or so I was “away.” So today I found the one quoted above a just had to say: thank you DJ! I loved it!
