Joy Daniels (joy_daniels) I'm working on a draft of my new NA, Running Scared. It's about a Boson University student and the bodyguard hired to protect her from herself. I'm about 2/3 of the way through.

I expect to have it completed, revised and ready for betas around February. I know it's early but I want to put it out there, for folks who like to beta.

FYI - I'm trad. published in erotic romance, and this will be my first NA.

If you're interested reply to this thread!

Thanks!

Joy

PS - If you want to keep up-to-date on the progress of the novel, and see pics related to the story, you can check out my FB author page:

Sarah Oxford (sarahloxford) | 1260 comments What does it involve doing Joy?

I don't know much about beta reading but I have read a friends book pre-submission and gave constructive feedback on things like flow, voice, dialogue, emotional impact, visuals etc.
Is that the sort of thing?

Joy Daniels (joy_daniels) Hi Sarah

You're an experienced beta reader, and you didn't even know it! :-)

That is exactly what is needed in beta reading. I'd love to have your input if you're interested.

Sarah Oxford (sarahloxford) | 1260 comments Sure, assuming nothing major comes up between now and February I'd love to beta for you. Just let me know when you need me!

Joy Daniels (joy_daniels) Hi all

Wanted to give y'all an update on where I'm at with Running Scared.

My plan was to be ready for beta readers this month but life had other plans (in the form of another project I had to drop everything to complete). All that is done and I'm now back to Running Scared full-time.

I expect it to be ready for private eyes (yours! :-) ) by the end of March/early April.

I am really excited about how the writing is going - the plot has gotten so much more complex than I originally expected, the subplots deeper, and the romance hotter! Since not everyone is interested in craft, I won't go into the writing here. However, if you would like to follow along with the process of turning Running Scared from an awesome hot mess into a fabulous novel, and even help with chapter critiques and conundrums - like what name do you prefer for a BFF, or what would you think of a hero who did X? - msg me, and I'll put you on a separate private loop.

Thanks for your interest in Running Scared and your patience!

-- Joy

PS - If you want to check out some of my non-NA erotic romance, I just posted a complete short story on Wattpad:

Lights Out: A Sexy Short Story

I've also posted the first couple of chapters of two of my other erotic romances, Revving Her Up (out now), and Nashville Trio (coming in April).

Joy Daniels (joy_daniels) Hello friends

I have created a private GR group for alpha and beta readers of Running Scared. (Although I love this group, I got tired of scrolling through everything to get to this thread :-) )

It's called the "Running Scared Front Runners," and I have invited everyone on this thread. (I think!) Feel free to opt out if you are not interested. If you have not received an invite, then we might not yet be GR friends - accept my friend request or send me one.

If you are new to this thread you can click on the link below, and request an invite to the group. You do not have to have experience alpha or beta reading - just interest in and enthusiasm for this story!

https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...

If you know of other folks who would be interested in joining and helping a great NA novel grow, send them the link and I will invite them.

Thanks again for you interest and support. I really really REALLY appreciate it!

Best,

Joy
