Jay Howard (jay_howard) This thread is now open for you to join GROUP 25 by adding your GR (not Amazon) book link. We have 10 places – I’ll add your name as you sign in. We’ll aim to get started in just a few weeks so once you’ve signed in watch your PMs for a message that we’re ready to start.

When you add your book link it not only indicates you want to join the group – it indicates you AGREE that you are WILLING TO REVIEW ANY ALLOCATED BOOK within the set 12 week limit.

There is no genre filtering.

If you are only willing to review your own preferred genres then sorry, but you’re better off finding a group that specialises in your preference. Here you might be asked to review fiction/non-fiction, adults’/children’s books, a religious text, BDSM, or anything in between. Allocation is entirely random and there will NOT be any rearranging of the listing to accommodate genre preference. The ONLY circumstance in which you may duck out of giving a review is if YOU provide a stand-in reviewer.

Let’s be honest here – we don’t all like the same things but we all want reviews. The only way this group can function is if we trust each other to behave honourably. And it IS perfectly possible to give a fair-minded review of a text that does not coincide with our normal choice of reading matter. If you need a few hints/tips, please see this thread:

;My book is "Truth & Freedom, A Match Made In Heaven", subtitle, "Antivirus Protection For Your Cranial Computer". I've been watching like a hawk since I saw your first announcment of the group forming and am glad I caught it before it filled up.

I know you want the GR book link, but don't know exactly what that is or where to find it. Please advise!!

Jay Howard (jay_howard) Hi Les
When you post a comment look at the line above the comment box - you'll see add book/author. If you click on that you can find your book on GR and click the Add button to the side. That will add the link to your comment. If you haven't already got an author profile set up with your book you need to sort that out asap - check out the advice on how to do it from the Help link at the bottom of each page.

The other way, of course, is to the use the Search option at the top of the page. Searching for your book title got me to the book page and I've just copied the link from the address bar at the top:

Gary Williams | 25 comments I'll write a longer intro on the other thread of this forum soon, but it represent my father, who's written many books, as his administrator/agent/managment/editor/publisher (there's probably more roles I could list).

I undertake to review any of the books that my father doesn't...

The book I'd like reviewed is:

Divine Deception: The Will Traveller Chronicals

I'll provide Smashwords coupons to reviewers (unless they require something else).

Very excited to be a part of this and... A big thank you too all the moderators putting in the hard yards to facilitate this.

Welcome to the group, Gary. I'll record it as you are the group member reviewing on behalf of your father. You can sort it out between you who does which reviews, but I suggest you stay as the point of contact for the group - swapping books, posting reviews, posting here - to save any confusion.

Hi Stephen, both posts are here OK - sometimes you need to do a refresh (F5) to see a recent post (normally if you've followed a link and gone backwards and forwards through pages visited). When the group is complete I'll let you know it's time to contact the members listed as due to review your book in order to arrange getting your book file to them.

message 18: by Stephen (new)

Stephen Rose (stephencrose) | 39 comments Another question. I infer that the reviews generated here are for Goodreads. Unfortunately, if that is so, the only reviews at present that would be valuable to me would be on my Kindle pages as Kindle is the only place I sell books. I did find the book I want reviewed Triadic Tales here at Goodreads but the price has changed since I posted it and so has the cover. I was unable to change the cover not being a librarian. Someone wishing to buy it would probably be led from here to the Amazon Kindle site and in that sense a review here would be of value. But it would be better if the reviewer posted it there as well as here or confined it to that site. This is overly involved but I think the issue is clear enough. Thanks. S

message 19: by Jay (new)

Jay Howard (jay_howard) Posting reviews - all reviews are posted to GR. Reviews 3*+ are posted to Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk. 1* or 2* should only be posted to Amazon if the author wants it there.

Hope that clarifies it for you, Stephen. It's all covered in the FAQs. As for the cover, you can't replace the old cover but you can add the new one and make that the default. Have a look in the help topics (link at the bottom of every page). It's also covered in our own thread:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Lots of good stuff here on the forum if you take a look ;)

I'd love to join this round - I write BDSM/BDSM Romance (it's definitely erotica, but not particularly hardcore BDSM.) Which will hopefully not be a problem for anyone reviewing.

I'll provide a gift certificate to the Kindle store, which is the only place this book is sold.

Hi Tara, welcome to the group, but we have a potential problem - gift certificates are only valid on the site they were purhcased. I know this as I was gifted a book on Amazon.com, was not allowed to 'buy' it there as I'm in the UK, but Amazon.co.uk wouldn't accept the gift certificate. Could you not provide a Word doc or a pdf? Personally I'm quite happy to receive Word as it's very quick and easy to convert to my preferred format (mobi).

It would save any problems with location, Tara, and save you some cash too. Another option, if you don't join Select, is to publish on Smashwords and give coupon codes for the reviewer to download any format they like.

I always thought a dunce was a philosophical realist with scholastic roots who steered clear of Ockham's Razor. :)

Are you maybe confusing a hypothesis with the fewest assumptions with a person with the fewest functioning brain cells?

Jay Howard (jay_howard) GROUP 25 - moderator
K.A. Krisko
http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...

START DATE: 28 December 2013

END DATE: 22 March 2014

Please remember the commitment you are making to your fellow group members. If you don’t think you can manage to do 4 book reviews between these dates please let me know now. I will find someone else for this group and you will be able to choose a later group that will be more suitable for you. If you pull out after the start date for any reason it is the other members who will be faced with the problem of finding a replacement, or missing out on reviews, through no fault of their own. Please don’t ask the moderators to chase after replacements as we just don’t have the time.

It is the responsibility of the author to get their book to their reviewer in a format the reviewer can manage. When the file is received, please post a GR link to the book in this thread so that the author has confirmation that reviewing of the correct book has started.

There are no set dates for the start of each round. You can each work at your own pace, within the limits of the round deadlines. All reviews must be posted by 29 June 2013.

When you have posted your review on GR please post a link to your review in this thread.

All reviews of 3, 4 or 5 stars must be posted to GR, Amazon .com and Amazon.co.uk.

If the rating is 1 or 2 stars, the review must be posted to GR but the author should be asked if they want the review to go to Amazon or not.

Postings to any other sites are by agreement by both author and reviewer.

In the next post are the listings for the 4 review rounds, the who reviews who stuff. You don’t have to put forward the same book for every round, but you can only ask for one review per round.

Happy reviewing, everyone :)

message 43: by Jay (new)

Jay Howard (jay_howard) If I’ve missed something that results in you being asked to review someone who has already reviewed you, please let me know asap.
