This thread is for suggestions and questions for the various categories. The thread for the participants is located here.

1. 'J' is for January: Read a book that starts with 'J' or a book whose author's first or last name starts with 'J'.

2. Member of the Month: Courtney - Courtney has been a member of the RRRC since August, 2010. Here is the link to Courtney's shelves. Please read a book from any of Courtney's shelves or a book published in 2010 or a book published in August of any year.

3. Geography: Read a book whose author, character or setting is from West Virginia.

Facts about West Virginia:
★It was one of two states formed during the American Civil War
★Several Appalachian music festivals take place in the state.
★The state’s colors are old gold and blue

Alternatively, you may read a book set during the American Civil War, a book with a musician main character OR a book with a gold or blue cover.

4. Jan. 1 - New Year’s day: Read the first book in a series OR a book by a new to you author:

5. Jan. 6 – Epiphany: Since it commemorates the baptism of Jesus Christ and is an official holiday in many European countries, read a book set in a European country OR a book with a body of water on the cover.

6. Jan. 14 - Makara Sankranthi (Festival of Harvest): Read a book with some kind of plant or fruit on the cover or the title OR with a farmer main character.

7. Out with the Old: Read a book that you’ve had on your TBR since last year (2012) or longer OR read one of the 10 oldest books in your TBR.

8. In with the new: Read a book that is recently released (since Nov 1st or newer).

9. National Blood Donor Month: Read a book with vampires or a main character with a medical profession.

10. Reader's Choice: Read any book of your choice.

Thank you :D"

Hi Alba-Mae!

Welcome to the challenge! It says in the first post of the challenge thread (not this one) you can choose 3,5,8 or 10 categories to complete, but really, you can choose any amount from 1-10 categories/books. The number choice has really been used as just a suggested guideline.

I hope you join in and have fun with it :)
