Liaden have you tried the Hurog Duology by Patrica Briggs? Very grown up epic fantasy as with Anne Bishop, brilliant characters it's another one I got withdrawal symptoms from when I finished, really wish there was more than just two. The audio book production of it is excellent BTW if you have any interest in listening instead of reading.

Name of the wind by Patrick Rothfuss
Talion:Revenant by Michael Stackpole
Mistborn, way of kings by Brandon Sanderson
Assassins Apprentice by Robin Hobb
just a few of my Favorites.

Farseer's Triogy
LiveShip Trader trilogy
Tawny man Trilogy
Fitz and the Fool Trilogy(1st ones out in Aug.) I had a ARC of Fools assassin's It was cool.

So did I! I was really impressed with Abercrombie!

The first two novels in this series kept me reading for hours on end, I would begin reading before bed, and by the time I finally looked up, the sun was already beginning to rise. I finished the first novel, The Promise of Blood, and immediately reserved a copy of the second, The Crimson Campaign, even though I had to drive an hour to find a store that had it in stock.
The final novel, The Autumn Republic, is at my local Barnes & Noble now and I will be there at open to grab a copy.
I cannot recommend this trilogy enough. To anyone like me, who was skeptical about the setting and deviation from typical epic fantasy, I say give this series a try, I believe it will surprise you as it did me.
