In your opinion, how good was 2013 for fantasy? In other words, how does the fantasy published in 2013 stack up to previous years?

Hi I think my only comment is that there is still too much YA style fantasy in my humble opinion.

Yes, everyone's trying to get on the band wagon. There used to be really good young adult books, but the extraordinary popularity of some in recent years has glutted the category and I tend to dismiss them all.

I just think that it is a dumbing down of fantasy when adults can only read YA books.....

Ooh that sounded a bit more aggressive than I actually meant. I am all for young people reading YA books and even adults occasionally but it would be nice if some real proper adult stuff was produced now and then.
