Shomeret
currently reading: Pirates by Celia Rees (YA historical fiction)

The book was an oral biography so it was really a quick read. Tommy Boy seems to have been one of the high points of his career and I think I may want to try and watch it someday to see him at his best.
Top Reads
Loved the audio of this book. George Guidall is perfect as Sheriff Walt Longmire.

Finally, after a seven year gap, another Rostnikov adventure. I like all of Kaminksy's series but this is my favorite and hope that he writes another sooner rather than later.
The fourth in the series featuring the stone cold criminal Parker.
Good Reads
The 12th book in the series and I have really just scratched the surface. The first appearance of "The Deaf Man".
Nice to revisit this series (I had not read one since 2002). Kate Fansler is asked by her college's administration to look into the murder of a widely loathed professor.
I found this very interesting even though I have never seen a Chris Farley movie nor watched him during his time on SNL.
Further tales from Moorland, Indiana. Audio read by the author.
Pleasant police procedural set in a small town in Ireland near the border of Northern Ireland(though the crime is horrific it takes place off page).

Very different, told in two sections with multiple POV's. Listened to the audio and wish they had used multiple narrators.
Another audio. Narrated by Frank Mueller
Set in Brooklyn not long after 9/11. Not as good as the first in the series Red Hook.
Man Who Lived/Night
2nd book in this series. Hoagy is hired by a reclusive former rock star to ghost his memoir. Audio read by Tom Stechschulte. Really fun series.
Latest by my favorite author. A British soap opera is rocked by the death of a member of the cast.

This had two things going for it, it was short and had Will Patton narrating the audio version.
Dublin PI Ed Loy is hired by a priest to find a missing person. This series specializes in the the family secrets type plot and while I did like it the ending was totally over the top (though what do I know since it was nominated for a best mystery Edgar this year). I thought the first two books in the series were much better.
Ok Reads
Rather disappointing. For whatever reason I had a really hard time with the author's prose style. It became a chore to read which was too bad since I think there may have been a decent plot buried in there.
Lots of violence and gore that just became tedious in the extreme.
