Read: Stormwalker by Allyson James
Rating: ***
Review: This is actually a book by Jennifer Ashley, who writes historical fiction so I was interested in reading this series! It was ok, it was another Native American with super powers type. I'm not giving it marks for originality and Nash was obnoxious but other than it was ok. Maybe it gets better as the series progresses? Who knows....
Items:
People: Sister: "Among my people cousins could be as close as brothers and sisters." Page 14
Animals: Wolf: "Wolf, I thought from her gray white eyes, but her human features were Native American." Page 330
Misc: Wind: "I can't work much more than simple spells, but put a storm near me, and I can make the wind, lightning, and rain dance to my bidding." Page 2
Props: Shoe: "I shrugged on a long shirt, slid my feet into shoes, and went out the back door." Page 75
Bonus: Paper: "Nash touched the paper in the folder with a clean finger." Page 323

I read

for me, at the moment this was a 3 1/2 ♥ read
Bobby Rae (Smitty) Smith
Jessie Ann (Jessica) Ward
Bobby Rae and Jessie Ann knew each other in High school, Bobby doing what he could to help protect Jessie from
Being bullied. Obviously they had a thing for each other, but Bobby enlists and they go their separate ways
Sixteen years later, they run in to each other while Bobby is doing security with Mace ,at a party run by none other than Alpha, Jessica Ward,
aka Jessie Ann Ward. She spents her time pretty much ignoring Smitty for a start. But soon things heat up.
I realy enjoyed the Magnus Pack Series, but have had a lot going on, and was unable to settle into reading this, so I feel I sort of
lost the line of the story.
WOLF Page 12.Much easier to handle a bunch of dogs than wolves probably. And yet, here she stood, getting lectured to by
this giant-headed mangy wolf.
HUNTER: Page 159. There were the wolves like Smitty,
who lived to hunt, fuck, and sleep—the typical wolf existence. “So am I going to go hunting this weekend with the others?
LONG HAIR: Page 34.“I’m still wearing my hair in ponytails”
PAPER: Page 103. Smitty looked up from the newspaper in front of him and blinked.
APPLE: Page 221. She bit into her candy apple.

Bonus: Paper

Wolf: "I heard you mated with a wolf." KL 2178

Paper: "Folding the piece of paper..." KL 3607
Nalini Singh always creates intriguing characters that leave you hoping they each get their own story. I really enjoyed how the storyline shifted in this book to a relationship between two Psy instead of Psy-Changeling or two Changeling like in previous books. And it was interesting to learn more about the Forgotten and the history of how Silence came about. Singh does a good job of evolving the Psy-Changeling world in each book without rehashing details from previous books. Katya and Dev were perfect for each other and had to overcome so many obstacles to be together that it made their romance delightful to watch as it developed. I will definitely continue with the series.

I can't stand the cliffhanger ending! I have Obsession and I'm glad to hear it is a stand alone. I have more series going than I can handle, but that doesn't stop me from starting new ones. :) I enjoy Armentrout's stories and she seems to crank them out pretty regularly too, which is a good thing!

Review:
I think this is my favorite of The Patrick Bowers Files novels I've read so far. I loved every scene with Tessa in it, she's my favorite character, and all the other scenes were great too.
The crimes in this one were really interesting. The reason why they were happening the way they were was intriguing and not what I was expecting at first.
While this book was no where near as gruesome as Opening Moves , it still was pretty gruesome at times - though it didn't bother that much this time.
If you are looking for an intense criminal thriller I suggest you read this series.
ITEMS CLAIMED:
People - Sister: "Tessa walked with her mother like a friend, like a sister..." (page 317)
Animal - Wolf: "The Lord's by the side of the sheep, not the wolves." (page 43)
Misc - Long Hair: "She brushed aside a stray tress of hair that had fallen in front of her eye." (page 250)
Props - Flying Ship: "Just past the flat strip of land where the helicopter sat..." (page 12)
Bonus - Paper: "...he must have noticed something because he was scratching busily at a pad of paper." (page 51)

I had started this book, last summer. I didn't get far before my puppy ate the book. THe group I was reading with hated this book so I didn't feel to pushed to pick it back up. I rather enjoyed this book after I started over.
Wolf: pg 318 ... and patted him like one might sooth a rabid wolf.
paper: 347: ... and withdrew a single sheet of paper
Long hair: pg 207 the storm had ripped his hair free from his thong and it fell to his waist...
Hunter: pg 242 ...but when he'd been killed in a hunting accident...

Review: I think this book was a great conclusion to the series. I zipped through it not being able to wait to see how it ended. I may have only gotten 3 hours of sleep Friday night. The story was heartbreaking and yet it felt realistic to me. (view spoiler) All through the last half of the book I kept wondering how is this going to end Peeta or Gale, not having chosen a "team" I was going crazy as the whole series has flipped back and forth. The end made sense though.
Pg 379- No one comes but Greasy Sae and her granddaughter...
pg 317- She slinks down off her stool and disappears...
pg 298- or rats the size of beavers.
pg 339- The wind whips the snow into blinding swirls...
pg 1- I stare down at my shoes...["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

5 big fat juicy stars.
I loved this book.
Trevor Glanzer
Chassie West-Glanzer
Edgard Mancuso
I have been looking forward to reading this, the 5th Rough Riders book, for SO long now. This is one of my most favorite series.
I'm so glad I finally got to it.... it is HOT HOT HOT
This picks up three and a half years after Trevor and Edgard split from each other and the
rodeo circuit that had brought them together. Trev is now married and living on the West property
with his part Indian wife Chassie. Trevor has given himself to Chass, and her to him, but she's never
been sure why she feels something is missing with Trevor. They've both been through hard times,
Chass as a half bred, and never feeling as though she fitted in, and Trev mourning the loss of his best friend
and lover, Edgard. Edgard hasn't had things easy over the three and half year separation either. This has led
to his decision to return to America from Brazil and find Trevor, in the hope they can rekindle what they had.
Is the love they once shared still there?
Even thought the same electricity is there between Trev and Ed right from the moment they
first see each other again, Trevor denies it, and tries at all costs to avoid Ed. This leaves Ed to spend
most of his days on the West-Glanzer property with Trevs wife Chassie. Trev has never mentioned Ed to her, so it
comes as a huge surprise to find they were close friends and roping partners.
After an argument in the barn, where they both lose their tempers, and start a fist fight, the boys end up in a
somewhat compromising position, and unknown to either of them, Chassie sees it all. She doesn't know how to cope with
what she has seen, so takes off to Colby's house, to talk to him and Channing, they being the only other people
who know about Trevor and Edgard.
She was sure Channing had fallen asleep, so she was surprised when Channing
murmured,
“You really should watch them together. When they’re naked in body and
soul. It’s as heartbreaking as it is beautiful. Then you’ll understand. Then you’ll do the
right thing.”
Things spiral from there for the three, and eventually Chassie is the one to make the first move to
sorting the situation out. There are a lot of family issues going on, wrongs being made right, and
some family members trying to build bridges.
You went beyond normal when you demanded your husband and his male lover perform for you live like some gay burlesque show.
I love this series, and this book is the best yet!! Loved the lovin' between Trev and Ed, and that Chassie was
so grown up and so much more open about everything than the boys were, thus, making their acceptance of the
situation so much easier.
A considering look crossed Edgard’s face. “You are wise beyond your years, aren’t
you?”
“I feel much older than twenty-five, that’s for damn sure.”
I have looked forward to Ed and Trev's story for ages, and the time finally felt right to read it... It did not fail!
Grandmother. Page 107. He rolled down her grandmother’s star quilt.
Stool. Page 184. Vinyl covered stools surrounded the curved counter,
Horse. Page 215. he tossed his bag on the floor next to the old wooden rocking horse his grandfather had hand carved.
Wind. Page 262. Edgard’s long pause seemed to steal every bit of wind from Trevor’s sails.
Shoes. Page 245. Or watching him lace up his
battered running shoes before he took off on his daily ten-mile run.

Review:
After reading so many rave reviews for this book I was expecting to very much enjoy it. I didn't. The characters felt flat, at least I couldn't connect with them. So even though I was able to read the story quickly, I just didn't care about what happened with the characters. Yes it was sad, I know that, but I'm not a person who cries easily and almost always have to feel a connection with a character for that to happen. Some things in the story made me laugh, but overall it was just an okay read. I'm glad I read it, but it's not one I'll be reading again.

Review: I thought it was ok. I was very similar to another trilogy that she wrote about 10 years ago so I didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to. I kept comparing and contrasting between the two. I'll definitely continue the series but I gave this one 3 stars. She should of at least come up with a different spell lingo. I got tired of hearing "SO MOTE IT BE"
Items:
People: Grandmother: "But her maternal grandmother, her treasured Nan, had given her a gift with so many questions." Page 38
Animals: Horse: "Aye, well, the horse is her talisman, but she's near sleeping on his back." Page 4
Misc: Unusual Name: Boyle McGrath, I looked it up on Babycenter it looks like it's never been on a top 200 list.

Charley Davidson is the Grim Reaper with a knack for crazy antics. The world-building in this series gets better with each book and I enjoyed learning more of Charley and Reyes' backstory in this installment. The chemistry between them is always sizzling. There is plenty of humor, action and an entertaining cast of characters to keep me turning the pages. I will definitely continue with the series and look forward to reading the next book.

I can do Short Person:
"'We can all be Amazons.'
'You're a bit short for it,' Meara pointed out.
'There had to be some runts in the litter.'
Page 259

If we can all avoid story until the last we should.
If some one has to do bug or monster then we should leave the other one alone.
Same with prince thief and Englishman.
To guarantee a spot in the top the last week we need to all be focusing on the same items. That way if in the last week a person is called that we already have claimed then we are only short 1 point from that category not 4 points short (if we all needed a different person).

Mine won't let me search. I bet there is a key somewhere with all those security systems the boys install but I have no guarantee of a forest.
I need to read it for another challenge.

"dress was a deep, forest green" KL 7673
"a deep green, one shade down from forest" KL 7677
Key came up 37 times in the search.

I will claim:
Elf
Horse
Unusual Name
Key
Forest

Items I'll be claiming:
People - Elf: "Found girl and funny dark elf." (page 237)
Animal - Horse: "They couldn't see the shaggy black horse with eyes like coals, walking along the road without reins or bit or saddle." (page 10)
Misc - Unusual Name: "Ask Puck, Leanansidhe said, waving her cigarette flute toward the end of the couch." (page 66)
Props - Key: "He reached into his vest, and pulled out a large iron key on a silk ribbon." (page 208)

People: Fairy: "The faeries, on the other hand, were very easy to spot." Page 16
Animals: Cat: "I don't have spell books or a talking cat (I'm allergic)." Page 11
Misc: Fictional Place: "...which meant I'd just crossed into the land of Royally Screwed." Page 197
Props: Key: "Jenna sat down her end of the trunk and pulled out her keys." Page 32
Bonus: Forest: "It was almost like the house was being slowly absorbed by the forest just beyond it." Page 13

Cool story, easy reading, light hearted mystery romance. I actually prefer the old cover! Jane is a widow with two boys, she meets Ty at a strange time in her life, it would seem someone is trying kill her. Mystery and romance along with comedy. Really enjoyed this.
4Stars.
Gnome:LOC On the cover of the version I read and "What the hell did a vial of semen in a gnome have to do with triplet cows?"
Bear:LOC 935. I realized I might have just poked a bear with a stick. OR: LOC 1866 "I however probably looked like I'd wrestled a baby black bear"
Key:LOC 3310 "She grabbed her keys and left"
Forest: LOC 1825: "I'm going camping tomorrow" I said breathlessly, "What can happen in the woods?"
Unusual Name: LOC 1609 Goldie. It was obvious he could suck a woman in with his Gazor beam. Hopefully Goldie had her force fields up.

Every book in this series is better than the previous one! I loved seeing all the characters I've come to love work together in this book, I love Puck but I love Meghan with Ash - think they are perfect together. Hopefully I will have time very soon to read it, just have to see how it ends.

Megan do you want to roll for random words?

Sorry, was busy yesterday. If the items Kathy suggested work we could go with those, except I think we should switch bug for monster and you should claim bear if possible. However, the book I found has these items: thief, monster, short person, bread, and purple; so I might go with those myself. But I'll look and see if I can find a book that works for the same items Kathy's going to claim, hopefully I can find something.

If at all possible you might want to switch bug to monster, since Dawn's already claimed that.

Monster: a strange or horrible imaginary creature (vampire, werewolf, Frankenstein, devil, demon, mutant). Will not take highly successful (ie monster success).

We did our own World Thinking Day event with our troop! They're first graders so I borrowed some posters from council that had uniforms from all over the world and they made paper dolls out of the ones they liked, then we had them look up what country they were from on a map. The girls seemed to enjoy it! We also read the suggested ebook about going to school in a different country which was kind of interesting.
