ACK!!!!! I have around 27 books on my "to read" list... can't decide what should be next!!!! Do I go alphabetically?? by book title or author???? By the highest rating?? Smallest? Biggest?? oldest? newest?? OH DECISIONS DECISIONS!!!!!!

Hey Misty, I compared books with you, and we seem to have a somewhat similar taste so I hope you don't mind. I would recommend The Hobbit: Or There and Back Again, The Poisonwood Bible or Shutter Island :)

I'm not sure where to put this, but it might be nextish on my list: has anyone read Lionel Shriver? This article calls her maybe America's best living writer. She wrote We Need to Talk About Kevin and The Post-Birthday World; her first book, Game Control, also looks interesting. I'd love to hear opinions about her; reviews I've found online have been a bit mixed though generally positive.

I'm going read Essie in Progress: A Novel next. I won it here on GoodReads and still need to post my review. Plus, it works for a task in the Seasonal Reading Challenge.

I have wanted to read Suite Française for several years. I have it, so it's there to be read. However, I have newer books on my wish list, and they tempt me every day.

Alex, I loved We Need to Talk about Kevin, but not sure I can recommend it, it will change you, especially if you're thinking about having children or already have young children. I gave the Post Birthday world three stars, the double storyline structure was really inventive but got a bit annoying after awhile.

Thank you Clare! I was afraid that was gonna get lost in the shuffle. We're merrily childless, so I guess we're safe from suddenly deciding our kid is a mass murderer.

I've read a lot of very different opinions of Shriver; I'll keep her in mind but not at the very top of the list. Prob'ly see Kevin in a bookstore three years from now and get to it then. :)

100 Years have been on my TBR forever! It is also my I book for my ABC Title Challange

I just went to the library and got One For The Money and Dead Until Dark. I have decided to read books in a series and am going to try and read them in order. This is definitely not going to help my TBR pile, which is so huge.

After I finish reading Locked in the Cabinet for school, I might read Rebecca or To Kill a Mockingbird.

I got The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo a couple months ago and I have been dying to read it. Hopefully I will get to it next!

I am in the middle of this one myself. After 2 nights of reading I am completely hooked!

Although I have many, many (many,many....) books & samples ready to go on my Kindle, I found an interesting book via the Graham Norton Show this past Sat. night. One of his guests was commedian, Shappi Khorsandi, whose family was exiled from Iran to London in the late 70's (her writer father spoke out against the Ayatollah after the fall of the Shah). She's written a touching memoir, A Beginner's Guide to Acting English. I just got the sample and hope to read it very soon.

I went to the library this past Friday and got One For the Money by Janet Evanovich and Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris. I finished One For the Money by Sunday and I am currently reading Dead Until Dark. I don't know when I'm going to get to the books on my TBR pile. I have been reading books in a series and I have been going to the library to get books I don't have at home.

My next reads are going to be (if I don't change my mind):

The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Doyle
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larson
A Virtuous Woman by Kaye Gibbons
1st to Die by James Patterson

I don't know how many of these I will get to read in May but I am going to try to read as many as possible.

I just finished The Devil & Sherlock Holmes: Tales of Murder, Madness & Obsession by the guy who wrote The Lost City of Z: A Tale of Deadly Obsession in the Amazon (are you sensing a theme here? Dude is obsessed with obsession) - the first essay is about the world's foremost Conan Doyle & Sherlock Holmes expert, who was found dead under suspicious circumstances right at the height of a legal feud with Conan Doyle's estate with millions of dollars in the balance. Really interesting stuff.

Next up for me is The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende.

Next for me is Horns, The First Man in Rome, The Name of the Wind & The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America. Fun times!!

I've read Devil in the White City. Pretty good stuff. I think I gave it 4.

I started it but it was when I was really busy and kept getting distracted. I liked what I did get read.

Not sure what will be next on my list after I get through Sanderson's Warbreaker. It'll be a toss-up from: du Maurier's Rebecca, McEwan's Saturday, Dickens's Little Dorrit and Mieville's Perdido Street Station =) I guess it'll depend on my mood after this book, lol.

Next is Water: Tales of Elemental Spirits and then Persuasion. Which will finish the box o' books my sister sent me, yay! Then I get to go back to my own giant pile of un-read. :/

Next up for me is Living Dead Girl and Traveling with Pomegranates. They're both due back to the library on May 10th!

How is Pearl of China: A Novel going? It is definitely on my short list.

Since we're in the middle of a move it's not going to be a fast read for me, but so far I really like it. Pearl Buck's life told through her childhood friend's eyes.

Next up for me is Murder Most Frothy followed by Front Row at the White House : My Life and Times

I finished The Alienist this morning and picked up Shutter Island at the library this evening. My hubbie's been on me to read it before the movie comes out on DVD. So I figure, it's just as good as any other of the millions of books on my TBR, right? Always so excited to start a new book!

I'm working on Daughter of Fortune now. Next up are One Thousand White Women: The Journals of May Dodd, The Girls, and The Buffalo Soldier.

I just got an email notice that the book I reserved, The Devil and Sherlock Holmes: Tales of Murder, Madness and Obsession, is finally ready for me to pick up at the library. I'll be doing that this weekend, and that'll be my next read. I'm looking forward to it.
