I read this book in the 10th grade. My English teacher was a huge fan of both the book and the movie, and would tell us little bits of trivia about the author and the filming of the movie as we read the book. I really loved it but I remember being confused about the racism and class-ism (is that even a word? lol) in the book. I didn't understand why people were treated so differently based on what they looked like or how much money they had. I did, though, understand about treating people differently because they were "weird", as shown through Boo Radley. I think everyone in highschool is familiar with that feeling.
I am going to re-read it before Crash Course discusses it, and I'm interested to see what it is like to read it as an adult.
