Melissa | 4 comments **********SPOILER ALERT*************

I just got done reading all of the Highlander books again, then I ended up reading the fever series all over again, and something caught my attention... Does anyone remember in The Immortal Highlander how
Adam Black did not want Gabrielle to take the elixir of life at the end, because he did not want her to lose her soul? Which got me to thinking about Mac.. Is she going to eventually lose her soul? Is she going to turn Fae? I remember at the end of Shadowfever when Cruse talked about giving her his version of the elixir of life. I'm wondering if anything is going to come of that? Any thoughts?

Samantha | 1254 comments I haven't read the Highlander series. In fact, I'm just starting book 1 on audio but that would be an interesting theory.

Little Feather | 278 comments Yeah, I am so sad I just finished the Fever Series and Iced, and now I am thinking about reading the Highlander series. Highlanders are sooo not my thing but I thought, hey, might as well give it a try since I love KMM. Also I thought it would be fun to learn more about the MacKeltar clan. Then I read some of the reviews for the first Highlander book and it had some pretty awful reviews. Should I just skip that book? Should I start on a different one? Are all the Highlander books about the MacKeltars?

Samantha | 1254 comments Little Feather, I'm listening to the first Hoghlander book now. It's ok but not great so far. I hear they get better.

Melissa | 4 comments The Highlander series is great IMO. I loved them. They do give some extra insight on the Fae, which is a plus! I would give them a try if you loved the Fever series. No, all the Highlander books are not about the MacKelters. I think it may be only 3 of them. Kiss of the Highlander, The Dark Highlander, and Spell of the Highlander. The Immortal Highlander also has the MacKelters in the book. I would give them a try!

Melissa | 4 comments Samantha, they do get better as you read more. Especially when you get to the MacKelters.

I know. That's why I'm still listening :)

Little Feather | 278 comments Cool thanks... this makes me want to read them even more. If I skip the first book will the others still make sense?

They say you can start with book 3.

Little Feather | 278 comments Ok! I will totally start with book 3 :) Thanks guys

Samantha | 1254 comments Let me know how it goes. I hope to finish book 1 this weekend. I'm a stickler so I don't know if I will jump to book 2 or to 3.

Kyra | 106 comments I got through book one and it was ok. I liked the ending. I got a couple chapters into book two and stopped. Maybe I will try again if it gets better with the next book.

Little Feather | 278 comments I just started with Book 3, Highlander's Touch, and so far, so good! It works great as standalone so far and it really good. Interesting characters, nothing absolutely dumb or ridiculous (idk about you but I never thought I would read a time-traveler highland romance!)and a page-turner for sure! And, of course, the highlander is VERY SEXY.

Sara (saragr) | 35 comments As "bad" as book 1 and 2 were, I liked them anyway. Definitely not my favorite but I could appreciate them for what they were. I don't recommend reading them all one after the other because it does get repetitive.

message 16: by Little Feather (new)

Little Feather | 278 comments Yeah, so I read 3, 4, and parts of 5 ("Dark Highlander"). They were all fun romances (and well-written) but I personally found them difficult to get through. I would just randomly lose interest. For me there wasn't enough of a compelling plot outside of the romance. The romance was good, but not enough to keep me going. It was very interesting to read these after the Fever series. They felt so sweet and wholesome in comparison! I kept getting shocked that everything worked out picture perfectly in these Highlander romances. I was like, you're kidding, he is actually going back in time to cure her Mom of cancer?!! So all in all the Highlanders were fluffy and enjoyable, but I prefer the more bittersweet stuff.
