Jeffrey Miller (jeffreyaaronmiller) | 9 comments I had noticed lately that my group posts weren't getting many views, and I wondered what the nature of the changes were. Thanks for the article. It's ridiculous to have a group with 700 likes and only 30 people see a post. It's close to useless. Well, at least I now know it's not just me.

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 2274 comments Very true and insightful! I have 350+ followers on my page and when I post a picture I usually average 10-20 views on a good day.

Oddly enough, I post western/zombie pics that relate to my book yet one day I posted a pic of 2 jugs with fruit punch, lemonade and apple moonshine and got 90 views! Talk about unrelated and odd...

Also I used a few friends pics(with their permission) as saloon girls and the views on their pics sky rocketed way past the norm. So I'm finding that it also depends on what you post that has an effect as well.

Facebook likes were always a work of marketing genius, for Facebook. It persuaded companies to run campaigns on the basis of how many likes they could get and drove advertising income from corporates. But marketing ploys wear off after a while (I was there for the Second Life crash) and so the advertising revenues were probably drying up for the standard like system so they needed to play with it.
