Guess what? We have FIVE MORE ARCs of Heartsong Cottage to give away while we read Reflection Point! Winners from this month won't be eligible to win, but I hope you will still join in and answer this question, suggested by one of our members last time around:

"If you could be ONE character in ANY of Emily's books, who would it be and what is it that attracts you to that character?" It can be Eternity Springs or one of your other favorite books from another of Emily's series'.

How about doing one other thing to support Emily while we read/re-read Reflection Point? Either:
1. Go to http://www.emilymarch.com and join Emily's Angels (or tell us that you're already a member. OR
2. Recommend any ONE BOOK from the Eternity Springs collection to one of your friends on Goodreads. You don't have to tell us who, but tell us which book you recommended, and why.

You are a wonderful group of compassionate women, smart women, strong women, and I feel blessed that we've been brought here together. Let's tell everyone else what it's like to be part of this community!

Now - get going on the latest giveaway entry....!

Oh, and my character choice is Cat Davenport. I just love her. She's smart, sassy, strong - and married to the hottest man in Eternity Springs, if not the whole planet, in my literary world. That is all. ;-)

Margaret | 53 comments I think I would be Nic. I'd love being a veterinarian, and I always wanted to have twins - girls would be wonderful! And Gabe, a landscape architect, and another hottie!
I'm already a member of Emily's Angels.

There are no bad choices, I suspect!

I agree, Paula! I can relate to almost all of our ladies one way or another. Emily has a real talent to create such believable/relatable characters!

Kay (kkfar) | 502 comments I would really want to be Celeste. Not because I am wise and fun and cool but because I want her wisdom, I want to do the things she does and I want to be as cool as her. I want to be Celeste when I grow up.

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

The world needs more gentle wisdom, and a reminder to have faith.

Hannah (hannahdabink) | 55 comments I am going to have to go with Sarah. I think she was so strong, being a single parent, taking care of her parents, running the store, having the courage to sell the family business to start her dream. and being able to reopen her heart to the one person she thought she had lost and be willing to give it all up for the happiness for her daughter. Oh and I joined Emily's Angels. how could I not.

message 9: by Melinda (new)

Melinda M (researcher707) | 592 comments I think I would like to be Nic. I think being a vet would be good. I worked at a vet's for awhile. I liked it. i also gt Gabe. I also Nic as being a person who thinks thru things but is there for her friends. The twins would be a challenge.
I am hoping that Emily keeps writing so we get to see the children grown up and getting into relationships.

Lola | 1001 comments I am already one of Emily's Angels. I recommend Nightingale Way , the ending was the best ever!
I would be Kat of course,so I could fly away with Jack.

I loved Nic for her compassion, her strength and her willingness to walk away when it had to be the hardest thing on earth to do. I hated that she did it, but I understood it. She deserved all of Gabe, not just what he was willing to give.

I have had many people tell me over the years that they could never be a pediatric or newborn ICU nurse, because it would hurt too much. They're right, it hurts, but it's also so fulfilling I could push past it most of the time. The thing I can't push past? Sick or wounded animals. The psychology should be the same, but it isn't. Strange thing about human nature, is it not?

Michelle | 34 comments I would like to be Savannah Moore. I resently started making soap and found it a fun hobby. Having my own shop would be a dream. Plus having a man in uniform be my hero........ Oh, Zach!

message 14: by Kay (last edited Aug 29, 2015 09:00AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kay (kkfar) | 502 comments I have recommended to my niece (by marriage) on Goodreads the Eternity Springs series but specifically Angel's Rest because it is the first in the series and sets up the rest of the series introducing the characters. Angel's Rest is a great example of what the whole series is about. The struggles the characters have, the hurdles they overcome, the forgiveness and love you can find in your heart when you don't think you have any to give. And it leaves you wanting more of the same. What better place to start than the beginning.

Me too, Brandi. The ability to paint something that reaches into the soul is such a gift. All of the arts are that way, but I'm so challenged when it comes to art; and I can't write music; hence, why I try to write!

You make some great points there! Zach is amazing, such a good person, and Savannah is such a strong counterpoint for him. They are hilarious together. I would love to learn to make soap -- I think handmade gifts are so special, I'd love to branch out and learn something useful!

Chelsea Klepfer (chelseaklepfer) | 94 comments Hmm, hard to pick but I guess if I had to choose only one character to be, I'd have to go with Cat Davenport as well. She's strong, courageous, sassy, and goes after what she wants in life. I'd love to be more like that. Plus, Jack Davenport. Need I say more?

I love handmade soap, especially lavender and the more herbal fragrances. Where I live, we have acres on acres of pear orchards, and there are some local artisans that make pear-scented soaps and lotions. I thought about them when Celeste was looking over the samples for Angel's Rest. I really love locally made products. You just know there's love in them.

message 22: by Kay (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kay (kkfar) | 502 comments Ditto that thought. I love finding great scents in homemade natural soaps and lotions. I have found some awesome ones in Colorado and Wahington state that I still order online. Love ones that are highly moisturizing because I have very dry skin. So any recommendations are appreciated.

I will go to the market this week and check out what's new for fall!

message 24: by Jina (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jina Gibbs | 763 comments Wow a tough one. I would want the wisdom of Celeste, the spunk of Sarah, the compassion and humor of Nic, the cooking ability of Ali, and Sage's artistic creativity and strength with handling her PTSD. I have PTSD and sometimes it's debilitating and makes it so hard to function through a regular day. If I had to choose just one I would be Sage although it would be awesome to grow up to be Celeste.
I am behind so haven't gotten to the soap making part yet. Although I was given a homemade soap that was Sage and Sandalwood and the scent was to die for. One of my other favorite scents but is so hard to find is Lilac.
I have signed up to be Emily's Angel but haven't received even a newsletter so signed up again. I am going to recommend each book in the series as I think they all should be read. I am going to start with Angels Rest and work my way forward from there. Each book has different reasons why I would recommend them and when I read them I sometimes get a thought that "this book would be great for so and so to read" or "I know so and so would love this book".
Thanks for listening. I know I am disqualified and I wish everyone good luck with this new drawing.
Sincerely Yours,
Jina

Really insightful, Jina, and a perfect way to summarize some of the best traits of each character. I'm overdue writing my reviews but I plan to catch up this week. PTSD plays a big part in Miracle Road and is - as usual - beautifully written. It's such a debilitating condition and not well understood. It's also much more common than people realize. A good discussion topic, too. Thank you for sharing.

Jina, I love the character you want to be by choosing the best trait of each woman. That was such a great idea. The person with all those traits would be amazing.

Jessica wrote: "Oh ptsd is hard i have it as well. Plus a few other things. So i can relate" I had the delayed onset type after a serious loss, and it's taken about a year to get on the other side of it, where I don't get affected by the triggers. I think it's seriously under-diagnosed, very poorly understood by the general public, and is stigmatized to some extent. Men in particular aren't as attentive to their mental and physical health as they should be, and are also reluctant to seek help because of the social stigma. I can't say I understood it well before, but now my heart goes out to anyone suffering with it.

Thank you. And im sorry. I have had alot of bad things happen to me. Things a child should never have happen. But even as i got older it seemed as if i was a magnet for hurt me. I have not only ptsd but Severe panic and anxiety disorder and depression, borderline personality disorder, agoraphobia etc. Sadly meds only make me worse so time is what its taking. I give serious credit to those who have been able to gain control over it. I beat it once but it came back with as vengeance. Its definitely true men are stubborn and think they are fine even when they are not. Its ok to not be fine. Get help and work on being fine

You are a very strong woman to be working to overcome all of those experiences. Take care of you, and take heart from this series. I do believe that reading is some of the best therapy there is; it's like comfort food for the soul. I can't wait to start my next read tonight.

Dogs are truly a gift from God, are they not? I've seen so many examples of what they can do. I have a story of an absolute dog miracle I witnessed as a nurse - it will go in the memoir I'm writing. To this day I can't think of that story without shedding tears of joy.
