A few minutes later Brendan reappeared with a tray that held a mug and a pot of hot water, along with a few choice tea bags and other items for the cup. "Here you go," the boy said, sliding the tray onto the coffee table in front of Brian.

Bloodblader | 2339 comments "Ah thank you" Brian said snapping back to attention. He reached over and choose a tea bag and made his cup. " by the way any idea what the challenge I'll be facing next?" He asked

message 53: by [deleted user] (new)

"Well... I shouldn't tell you, but I'm pretty sure it's just a tactical survival course. I don't think you'll have a problem with it." That is, if it didn't get sabotaged.

message 54: by Bloodblader (new)

Bloodblader | 2339 comments "Sabotage, what by one of the other competitors, or one of the judges?" He asked

message 55: by [deleted user] (new)

"I didn't say-" Brendan froze. "Do you have other abilities?" he asked, not answering the question.

message 56: by Bloodblader (new)

Bloodblader | 2339 comments "I'm sure it will all work out, and yes I do " he said before finishing his tea. " thanks again, well I better hit the hay for tomorrow will be a busy one" he said

message 57: by [deleted user] (new)

Brendan nodded slowly, turning to leave. "Good luck tomorrow," he wished before slipping out the door.

Bloodblader | 2339 comments After he left Brian went to bed and quickly fell asleep.
Next day

message 59: by [deleted user] (new)

The next day, Kahea sat in a pile of pillows underneath a big tree that overlooked a low gulley, where servants were putting the finishing touches on the course for the day. She wore something similar to before, only this time the dress was blue and the paint on her body was white against her tan skin.

message 60: by Bloodblader (new)

Bloodblader | 2339 comments Brian was waiting with the other competitors. He was doing some minor stretches to loosens in up

message 61: by [deleted user] (new)

Kahea turned her attention to the group of men in the field, searching for Brian. Her face lit up when she saw him, wishing he could head down there, but she would get in trouble. She sipped her coffee, watching Brian for a moment.

message 62: by Bloodblader (new)

Bloodblader | 2339 comments Brian looked up to her and smiled and mouthed " I love you"

message 63: by [deleted user] (new)

Kahea grinned at Brian, unaware of any of the other contestants or servants watching them. "I love you too," she mouthed back.

message 64: by Bloodblader (new)

Bloodblader | 2339 comments Brian noticed one of the other guys looking at him. "What's your problem" he said sternly

message 65: by [deleted user] (new)

"The rest of us have as much of a chance with her as you do," the guy growled back, looking from Brian to Kahea. "Just because you illegally got to her only makes your reputation with the council worse."

message 66: by Bloodblader (new)

Bloodblader | 2339 comments "Like I care, knowing her before this, having fallen for her is my driving force and I'll prove I'm worthy with these challenges " he said turning his attention back to the task he was about to take

message 67: by [deleted user] (new)

Three or so guys rolled their eyes. "Yeah, you do that," one muttered, honing in on an announcement maker as he stepped up to a podium.

message 68: by Bloodblader (new)

Bloodblader | 2339 comments Brian took a deep breath and waited for the trial to start

message 69: by [deleted user] (new)

"Two teams," the announcer started, looking down at a piece of paper. "On team blue-" a list of six names rolled off his tongue," and team purple," again, three, then, "Mersjif, Brian, and Kai." Kahea rolled her eyes. They'd cockily chosen her favorite colors. Loose terms for them anyway.

message 70: by Bloodblader (new)

Bloodblader | 2339 comments Brian looked to Kai and merji

message 71: by [deleted user] (new)

The announcer gave the rules of the game, that they weren't to kill anyone, yada yada, and after, Mersjif, Kai and the three other competitors, Joel, Ghost and Sabin turned in towards Brian for the six to discus their plan. They knew that the losing team would have their weakest member disqualified from the entire marriage competition, unless a game rule was broken, so they had to work together.

message 72: by Bloodblader (new)

Bloodblader | 2339 comments Brian nodded and was ready for this team effort if it meant he was closer to his goal

message 73: by [deleted user] (new)

Mersjif glanced at Brian, and, ever the leader took the step forward and instructed, "I know it's an obstacle course, but it's also sort of a relay." A slow, evil grin spread across his face. "He said no killing, but that didn't include maiming, so..."

message 74: by Bloodblader (new)

Bloodblader | 2339 comments "Not cool" Brian said under his breath he stepped up ready to take the first part

message 75: by [deleted user] (new)

Mersjif rolled his eyes. "I've no idea how you wrangles Kahea without dominance," he muttered under his breath, taking second place.

message 76: by Bloodblader (new)

Bloodblader | 2339 comments "There is showing dominance and then there is also respect " Brian said and when the signal was given Brian ran off through the coarse

message 77: by [deleted user] (new)

Mersjif didn't care. When he won, Kahea would answer only to him. One thing he would have promised the late king would have been to stop Kahea's flighty, free-spiritedness, but he didn't say it now as he watched Brian run the course. Kahea watched from above with interest, still feeling weak from the necklace but getting used to it.

message 78: by Bloodblader (new)

Bloodblader | 2339 comments Brian was the first to finish the corse he had no trouble at all with it

message 79: by [deleted user] (new)

Mersjif took off the second Brian reached the starting line, clearing through the course with supernatural speed.

message 80: by Bloodblader (new)

Bloodblader | 2339 comments Brian watched him go, not to impressed

message 81: by [deleted user] (new)

Kahea rested her head back against the tree, now bored and focusing on just watching Brian from afar. Before she knew it, Brian's entire team had made it through the course and the judges stepped away to decide who had done worse on the opposing team.

message 82: by Bloodblader (new)

Bloodblader | 2339 comments Brian stood next to his team mates waiting to hear who from the other team would be eliminated

message 83: by [deleted user] (new)

"Kajiit," one of the judges beckoned a younger, inexperienced man over. "You are disqualified from the running for Kahea's hand."

message 84: by Bloodblader (new)

Bloodblader | 2339 comments Brian watched the younger man leaving his hopes dashed. Brian stood straight to show his determination

message 85: by [deleted user] (new)

"Alright, now, everyone may disperse." The elder judge held up his hands to wave the men away, and Kahea sat up straighter, willing Brian to face her so she could see him.

message 86: by Bloodblader (new)

Bloodblader | 2339 comments Brian looked up to her a smile coming to his face. He was later to leave and went back to his room

message 87: by [deleted user] (new)

Kahea gave a small wave, waiting for everyone to leave before standing and heading home herself.

((Do you want to skip to a few days later? Like after a few more competitions have gone by?))

message 88: by Bloodblader (new)

Bloodblader | 2339 comments ((Yes)) over the next few days Brian watched as the other competitors dropped like flies

message 89: by [deleted user] (new)

Kahea was walking down a hallway, jitterish as she knew the next day was her birthdate, which meant servants were bustling about and competitors were eyeing her. She clenched her jaw; tomorrow, the rule of leaving her alone was dropped, but at least that meant she could see Brian.

message 90: by Bloodblader (new)

Bloodblader | 2339 comments Brian smiled sitting back in a chair soon it will soon be taking the final challenge

message 91: by [deleted user] (new)

((The final challenge isn't for a few days... It's just that the next day is her birthday.))

Kahea wandered the halls for a bit more before deciding to head to her personal library, which was a giant room in itself.

message 92: by Bloodblader (new)

Bloodblader | 2339 comments (Yes I know I meant soon as I'm a few days))

Brian got up and went for a walk

message 93: by [deleted user] (new)

Kahea busied herself in the library for a little while, looking over a few books that had come in while she was away.

message 94: by Bloodblader (new)

Bloodblader | 2339 comments Brian soon found himself outside and he decided to shift and stretch out his wolf form a bit.

message 95: by [deleted user] (new)

Once Kahea was bored with looking through the books she went to look out the floor-to-ceiling windows, leaning her head against the glass. After a moment she saw a wolf in the distance and frowned, wishing she could shift. But instead, she watched the wolf which she soon figured out was Brian.

message 96: by Bloodblader (new)

Bloodblader | 2339 comments Brian was running back and forth, he was a little faster each pass, he seemed to be training.

message 97: by Bloodblader (new)

Bloodblader | 2339 comments Brian was running back and forth, he was a little faster each pass, he seemed to be training.

message 98: by [deleted user] (new)

Kahea watched Brian more closely, smiling to herself. Was he training? She chuckled and waved, though not sure if he could see her.

message 99: by Bloodblader (new)

Bloodblader | 2339 comments After a bit Brian sat down and a little bit more and three more wolves approached him . " nice night tonight?" He barked to the three

message 100: by [deleted user] (new)

((Ooo... Want them to provoke him?))
