—review of Life of Pi
This summer, i read a book called Life of Pi, which is written by Yann Martel. This book told us stories about Piscine Molitor Patel who made his name become Pi.

The first part of book narrates something about Pi’s childhood, for example, the reason why did Pi change his name, something happened in Pi’s father zoo and the religions.

In part two, the ship which carried Pi’s family and animals to North America sank, but Pi survived and then he stayed on a lifeboat with Richard Parker a tiger, orange juice a gorilla, a spotted hyena and a zebra. On the ship, Pi started to know the natures of animals. The hyena killed and ate the zebra. Finally, the hyena was killed by Richard Parker. It was very cruel. Pi made a small boat connected to the lifeboat in order to survive under the threat of tiger. After over 200 days, they reached Mexico.

The next part is a interview between two Japanese officials and Pi, However, the officials did not believe that Pi lived with a tiger for hundreds of days. So he told them a false story to them.

I think this book is worth reading, and I love the second part most. it let me know that there is fear in everyone’s heart. Although Richard parker who can easily kill the hyena is the most powerful animal on the boat, he was still afraid of the ocean, the nature. However, the wisdom and bravery made him survive under the fear of the tiger and the nature. therefore, when i are in a dilemma, I should say to myself”i can do it”. This cannot help us solve the problem completely, but can give us possibility to solve it.
