Lance Greenfield (lancegreenfieldmitchell) | 156 comments Go back in time in the company of Goodreads time travel author, Howard Loring.

Howard drives around town on a very special bus. He picks up his passengers at every stop, and he takes them back to the 'sixties.

Towards the end he promises that the next bus tour will be visiting the 'fifties.

It's a lot of fun, but I have to say that this traveler's guitar playing is better than his singing, even with five strings. Unfortunately, one string was stretched beyond its own Elastic Limit, and it went PING!

You'll see what I mean when you follow this link.

No Doubt, REAL PROOF OF TIME TRAVEL

And thanks for your kind review of the latest book:

And by the by, thanks for your reviews of all my books.

Lance Greenfield (lancegreenfieldmitchell) | 156 comments The cat gut is out of the bag - and stringing your old, but new in its own time, guitar!

Paul | 341 comments O -- M -- G. We now have REAL PROOF of Time Travel. Thanks for the YouTube link, Lance.

We've known for some time that our Travelin' friend Howard Loring has been struggling with his machinery -- power issues, I believe -- and now at long last the repairs are 100% successful! Just check out this video. Definitely exciting news, though I had no idea that a diesel engine of a tour bus would be the key. With musical accompaniment, no less. What a trip.

Howard, I noticed how delighted your passengers were with the journey to the past. Any chance you'll be taking this tour on the road?

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 1177 comments Lance mentions 'your old, but new in its own time, guitar':

Lance, I actually have five guitars, all needing work, like me.

The one I used is sweet though but I've worn the frets (buzz) & as two others are getting new frets as we speak & the other two have gored out peg holes this was the best I could do on short notice.

No one seemed to mind.

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 1177 comments The real Paul wants inside scoop of my itinerary:

Paul, all the Time & what's really evident is what a blast I was having.

I always do.

message 7: by Lance (new)

Lance Greenfield (lancegreenfieldmitchell) | 156 comments Paul: It appeared to me that the real fuel for the time traveling bus was the collective singing if the passengers. Granted, the diesel moved the bus through space, but it was the singing, directed by Howard the pilot, which moved the machine along the time axis.

Howard; Your guitar is fine I was just pointing out that one string was stretched Beyond the Elastic Limit,. After all, Seasick Steve is very successful with his one-stringed guitar. You had the luxury of an extra four!

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 1177 comments Mika, just watch the video.

Time Travel is easy employing the Elastic Limit of Time.

Lance Greenfield (lancegreenfieldmitchell) | 156 comments Howard wrote: "Time Travel is easy employing the Elastic Limit of Time."

That's true. It is very easy! As you know, I have often visited my old friend, Archie, and brought back the news.

The only slight risk that I have with that now, is that I need to get to Syracuse early enough in your chapter on the topic, or I end up just talking to distraught Roman officers!

message 11: by Howard (new)

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 1177 comments Well Lance, that's always been so.

But you can always take return trips.

Heh heh heh

message 12: by Lance (new)

Lance Greenfield (lancegreenfieldmitchell) | 156 comments Know what? You need a drummer on that bus!

Ginger Baker down the back would propel the machine through time at the speed of...... light-decades!

message 13: by Howard (new)

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 1177 comments Lance, the first camera (from which the video was pulled) ran out of juice.

The second camera has Stevo (the cameraman) playing a Blues harmonica accompaniment and it's pretty cool, given that by then only a few people were riding on the Time Traveling Bus.

message 14: by Lance (new)

Lance Greenfield (lancegreenfieldmitchell) | 156 comments I guess a few people fell off the bus when you went over those bumps in the mid-nineties. Lucky you stopped for a while in the sixties. If you'd headed any further back, there'd only have been you, Stevo and the pilot left on board!

Ding dong! Next stop the fifties!

message 15: by Howard (last edited Mar 25, 2014 08:48AM) (new)

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 1177 comments Lance, did you not see the disclaimer?

'No humans were harmed in this Time Traveling demonstration'

Heh heh heh

message 16: by Lance (new)

Lance Greenfield (lancegreenfieldmitchell) | 156 comments Saw that. I'm glad you managed to pick them up, unharmed, on the return trip.

Now get back into the workshop and repair your guitars ready for the next trip!

I am going to LOVE the fifties!!!!

message 17: by Howard (new)

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 1177 comments Lance, during the four hour trip I did go back to the 50's, as well as the 60's, 70's and 80's, several times, although you're correct that most of this video depicted the 60's.

But find the 50's here: 14:35 and 23:53

message 18: by Lance (new)

Lance Greenfield (lancegreenfieldmitchell) | 156 comments I have a triple CD set of fifties hits that I play in my garage as I row my rowing machine back in time.

Us travelers all have our own favourite contraptions!

message 19: by Howard (last edited Mar 25, 2014 09:12AM) (new)

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 1177 comments Lance, you've read all of my books:

The first deals with the machinery, how it's used & can go haywire but in the second you learn you may not need any machine at all to Time Travel (and it was 'the essential element' that powered the bus, you know) and the third book details what can happen when the two are employed.

As you do, I prefer both machinery and the human imagination.

Archie says 'hi' by the by.

Heh heh heh

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 1177 comments The technology of this Current Reality remains a mystery to me:

Yesterday you had to type in my name first on Youtube to see the video, yet today just 'Time Travel Bus' will get you there, most curious.

I should have asked Socrates about this when he was riding but, alas, that wasn't in his Future, at least this Timeframe.

He did say that by next Time he'd bone up on the words.

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 1177 comments In honor of the new Elastic Limit book I posted a link to 'The Time Travel Bus Ride' on my profile page, now one of five videos there.

Or just enter 'Time Travel Bus' (or Bus Ride) on Youtube.

Either way, Proof of Time Travel.

Heh heh heh

message 24: by Howard (new)

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 1177 comments Epic Fable Fans, the 'Time Travel Bus' video, posted two weeks ago today, this morning reached 200 hits on Youtube, who’d of thunk?

This proves that Proof of Time Travel will not be suppressed in this Current Reality.

Thanks to everyone who checked it out.

message 25: by Howard (new)

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 1177 comments Epic Fable Fans, good news; after three weeks the Time Travel Bus is still taking on passengers & the video has now surpassed 300 hits on Youtube.

So far, here’s the most popular items shown:

Guitar case & strap—seen throughout
Almost falling over – 4:22
Blasting off – 12:40
Example of Time Distortion - 25:30
Time Traveler was once thinner – 3:30
Loops in Time - 22:12
How to Avoid Paradox - 22:51 & 25:52
Socrates on the bus– 26:07 & 26:33

What a hoot, tell all your friends to climb aboard

message 26: by Howard (new)

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 1177 comments Strange, but Youtube is no longer giving an exact number of hits on the 'Time Travel Bus' instead only showing '301+'

Who knows what the Future will hold?

message 27: by Suzi (new)

Suzi (suzpep) | 40 comments The Time Traveling Bus sounds like a fun trip. However, I can honestly say that, after hearing Howard's singing, it is a really good thing that he's a good author.

:)

message 28: by Howard (last edited Apr 13, 2014 06:03PM) (new)

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 1177 comments Suzi, the point was for the others to sing & they did.

Too bad though that they couldn't drown me out.

Still, a hoot & no humans harmed, as the disclaimer notes.

And be aware I didn't post the link, Lance let that cat out of the bag.

message 29: by Howard (new)

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 1177 comments Suzi, Just saw you 'Liked' my Facepage, many thanks.

Hope you saw the pictures of the upgrades to my Time Machine, now complete, oh boy.

Lance thanks for the plug, I like your site.

Now just under 750 visitors on the Time Travel Bus.

Who'd of thunk?

Certainly not me.

message 32: by Lance (new)

Lance Greenfield (lancegreenfieldmitchell) | 156 comments Quite a few of them are appearing on my own Coach Tours on my blog. Two so far, Stonehenge (when it was being built) and 1920s New Orleans.

I know when and where we're going next, but that will be a surprise!

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 1177 comments Hummm?

Top Secret Agenda.

I like.

Carry on my wayward friend.

message 34: by Lance (new)

Lance Greenfield (lancegreenfieldmitchell) | 156 comments The next one is not Archie, although he is in the schedule for later this year, and earlier in his year. I saw him yesterday, and there were too many pesky Roman soldiers milling around for my liking. It was a bit dangerous to take my tourists on a visit. I'll re-tune the dashboard on my coach to take us back a few extra months.

Clue to the next one:
Another friend of mine is a teacher called Harry. His star pupil is young Alex.
