I've been an avid reader of all kinds of books since early childhood, but my favorites have been mysteries and history, and I also enjoy police procedurals and thrillers. I live in a suburb of Chicago. After a busy career as a medical group administrator with a major university hospital, I retired and became a writer.
I am fortunate to live in an area that is both geographically interesting and historically quirky. Is it any wonder that when I finally tried my hand at becoming a writer of fiction, I wrote a historical mystery based in the area I live? My first novel was published in April 2015, and my second is almost finished, and I hope will be published about May 2016. The first is currently a Goodreads Giveaway, and is about a young Irish woman who is killed in 1898, and comes back as a spirit to haunt a retired amateur historian. The historian sets out to solve the mystery of her death and finds ties to her own life.
