It helped me a ton this year too! I can make another for sure.

Ann | 36 comments I really loved the New Release challenge we did last year! I was surprised I actually did it. Usually I hate being led into reading a certain book but that one gave me the freedom to read what I wanted. Thumbs up on that one!!

Thanks! I'm glad you liked that challenge. It helped me a lot, too. I'm surprised at how many I ended up reading!

I know it's only September, but I'm already thinking of new yearly challenges for us. I'm thinking I may do the Series one again, because I can't tell you how helpful it's been for me!

But if anyone has any suggestions for the new year, I'm always listening.

Ann | 36 comments Hey Sarah what new challenges have you come up with for 2021? I have to be able to pick my own reading/ listening material but found I really enjoyed getting creative to fit them into the challenges. Any ideas yet?

Hey Ann! I was thinking of making them simple next year. Everyone always seems to like those best and I think next year's challenges should be something that doesn't feel like homework. I may re-use New Books and Endless TBR or Finishing Series and just one more..... was thinking maybe Series a Month, Library Love, or Build Your Own Challenge.

I really liked the New Challenge from 2019 and Finish the Series has been great too. I’d be up for both of those! I’ve started some new series books this year that would fit right in for 2020. I was a bit skeptical on the What’s In A Name but that turned into a hunt for just the right book to fit and I found so many. I ended up loving that one! The Alphabet was fun too. I had 6 to 8 books for some of the letters so it was difficult to pick which to read first and list.

Ann | 36 comments A couple of ideas I had for myself was New To Me Authors. Not necessarily first time authors but books by authors whose work I’ve never read. And the complete opposite of that, Books by Authors I Enjoy. I have a lot of authors whose books I have discovered and they have several I haven’t read yet. Don’t know if anyone else would like these but I don’t think either would be difficult.

Those are good options too! I may like doing the Books by Authors I Enjoy one for everyone in 2021

Alright everyone, I can't choose between a few for the last yearly challenge this year. Would love your thoughts!

Reading Women (reading women authors' books)
Locations (choose 10 places you've been to - literally anywhere - and read about them - fiction or nonfiction)
In Memory (choose 5 authors who've passed on and read their fist and last books)

Or we bring back an old favorite (Creatures, New Books, Series Finish, etc)

Sapna Bisht In Memory and Reading Women sounds interesting....

Ann | 36 comments Reading Women sounds interesting.

New books and finish series always fit into my reading.

I also liked the Library Love from last year. Our local library is still struggling and only opening 3 days a week instead of 6 since the Covid outbreak started and shut downs happened. They have been unable to have their book sales and are dealing with staffing and funding issues. They really need love. Many of us are concerned that community libraries are going to start closing for good soon.

I’d have to think about Locations. Often I don’t know where a book is set until I’m into it so it would be difficult to chose a particular place. That would probably just be a few random books that I happen to be reading but it does sound interesting. Unless I’m not understanding how this one works. Not sure if you mean a place like Yellowstone or if it could be a fiction book of a firefighter set in California. I could use some clarification on this one.

Awww I'm always in support of the Libraries. Maybe we should do that one again!

The Locations one could really be anywhere you've been, Countries, National Parks, Neighborhoods, States, etc.
