Ooh! That sounds good. Thanks NU. If you find any articles please do send them my way. I will be much appreciated. I'm definitely going to check out that book though. It sounds right up my alley for fun and history wise. :-)
I haven't read too many books set in France during that period, but for French Revolution era, you might try Surrender to a Stranger by Karyn Monk. The heroine is a French aristocrat that is facing arrest during the reign of terror.
That sounds good, Danielle. Thanks! I'll check that one out. :-) I wonder if that's one of the areas that historical romance doesn't really focus on? I know there's a good amount in historical fiction and non-fiction but I don't think there are many romances taking place around that area. At least not that I've heard of.
A Rose at Midnight by Anne Stuart has a heroine who escaped the guillotine but her parents were killed. It's really good and has some stuff about France, but mainly takes place in England.
I think there are, but I haven't read that many. Hope that helps.

Ooh that does sound like a good story, too. I'll add that.
I think I may have The Scarlet Pimpernel in a folder from my last Proj Gutenberg visit but I haven't read it yet. Will definitely have to check that out for resources. Thanks again, Danielle!

The story takes place in the 18th century during the birth of Port-au-Prince/Haiti and up until around the French Revolution. Since I have a lot of bookish friends I'm asking for historical books that feature french court scenes around this time along with some architectural descriptions (I'm diving back into my art history books for the latter but would love more). Also what boat conditions and what transportation was like between the two areas. I'm looking online for articles and such as well but I want to know more about how life was like back then, etc. So if any of you historical romance/fiction fans have come across books that feature these two areas around this time, please let me know!
Also, just for funs I'm looking for historical fiction/romance books taking place in Ancient Egypt as well. :-D
Thanks in advance guys!
