Alan | 100 comments Really enjoyed Deliver Us From Evil by Baldacci, so much so that I've just started The Camel Club.

They could be different editions of the book that the two of you read. Italics for a different POV in the same chapter or page is not uncommon, and as long as it's consistently maintained in the book, should not detract from the story.

I always acknowledge that I got the book from GR First Reads for instance. Most advance copies of books have a disclaimer not to quote from the book because last minute changes might be made before publication. To me that is a good reason to state that it is an advance copy because an error that I might point out could have been corrected before publication. And I admit that I do feel a certain obligation since I was given a free copy to maybe be a bit more generous in my review.

I found one with Penguin Books, who are others that offer this program? I would love to be a part of this!

Right Ty...my copy didn't have any indication of the change in POV.

Lorrea - WhatChaReadin'? (whatchatreadin) I am one step closer to being employed!! Passed part one of my test. Now waiting for part 2 in a few hours. Will be studying up on that in the mean time. And doing laundry and listening to the book on my iPod so I can get to my books for this month.

Two weeks off work, at home holiday but so nice.

Watching Queens club, gardening, playing tennis, reading my book in the garden.

My wife and I love to go to the local tea rooms, and sit in the gardens and relax, go for long walks something we just do not find time to do.

My wife love sitting in the garden making her jewellery.

Also lovely Plemont, with all the great caves, when the tide is out.

Greve De Lecq, for Connie's for her great food and looking over the beaches.

Le Coup, tucked away and hidden, no signs at all for this little secret.

message 1773: by Alan (new)

Alan | 100 comments Sounds lovely Sean especially the hidden one. Been many years since I last visited the island.

Be great if you could have a look at the group Fans Of Ben Kane, I really like his work just trying to get people interested.

Oh yes I used to play loads of tennis myself until the back packed in haha

That's a shame, playing tonight, four sets every Monday night, as we have Men's Team Tennis, I am captain of one team.

Play on grass for three sets on a Wednesday, which is lovely.

Thursday four sets of external league for my club, captain on an external league division two.

Singles at the weekend, but getting harder at 56 years old !

Will have a look at the group, but hard to give time to other groups, I do pop in but more to see what their doing.

Sometime sending messages/e-mails for two/three hours a day !

I just do not have time to work !!!

Cannot wait to retire, but do not want to get older...LOL

message 1775: by Alan (new)

Alan | 100 comments Haha, you sound a busy man my friend and good stuff with the tennis, I used to play regularly myself.

message 1776: by Autumn (new)

Autumn (autumnmemory80) Welp. This weekend I managed to take a lovely little tumble down the stairs of my apartment, and being the overachiever that I am, I managed to sprain both my ankle and my foot. It hurt so much I thought I broke it. So while all my friends are showing off the pictures of the beach trips, I am sitting on the couch with my foot propped up and reading instead. Not bad, but would rather be reading at the beach.

message 1782: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) | 694 comments so how is everyone? I am fine. Am trying to get through some read and review requests which are pretty good thus far (one is a whodunit mystery thriller serial called Black Star Canyon by Creep Creepersin which I am reading season 1 then got two paranormal romances with the dark fantasy blood of the realm) and need to start writing chapter 2 of the AbyssFantastical web serial which is called the AF dark descent and I hope to have it ready so it can post on Saturday.the sequel is set 5 years after the first one and the heroine Charity returns to the AbyssFantastical by force by a dark and sinister villain that wants to destroy her. I don't know the creature's name yet but he is made out of the darkness of the land with nightshade's evil and this one will be very different than the first one. The creature in my mind sounds like voice actor Vic Mignogna when he voiced Broly in the Dragon Ball Z Broly film.

Alan | 100 comments Get better soon Autumn.

message 1784: by Alan (new)

Alan | 100 comments Congrats Sean 4 to 2? Must be a team thing I only ever played played individual so not up on team scoring. Do u play 3 or 5 set games?

message 1785: by Lavada (new)

Lavada (kraftyvada) | 436 comments oh poor Autumn! Stay down. Had a woman at work break both feet and was only allowed up to go bathroom for a month! Look at how much reading you can do! Take care

Alan

It's Team Tennis on Monday, where I pick four players from my Team of six, we have to seed the four players, and we play against another team, I played at number 1.

So you play three sets against the other team, so I play one set with my number, 2,3 and 3, against their number players, a total of six sets.

The lasted 2 and half hours last night.

Tomorrow is men's doubles on the grass, best of three sets.

Thursday is four sets, two sets of mixed doubles against another club, then two sets of doubles(total 8 sets)

Saturday afternoon is mixed doubles friendly, always a great game.

Sunday in singles, against the number one ladies player on the Island, she always plays against men and beats most of them.

Saturday morning up 5.00 and doing our regular jewellery market from 7.00 to 2.00 then the mixed tennis 4.00 to 6.00.

PS Had lunch out at Connie's at Greve De Lecq, took some pictures of the beach and will try to upload to my home page here, so you can see the beach !!

message 1791: by Alan (new)

Alan | 100 comments Bloody hell Sean that explained it to me haha, I miss playing need to get back to it albeit slowly. Good look with the markets on Sundays and would like to see some pics of the beach when you have time, which I see you don't have much of.

Lorrea - WhatChaReadin'? (whatchatreadin) Way back when I was young and agile. I was the #1 girls player on my school team. I always played our boys to strengthen my skills and make me a better player.

message 1799: by Alan (new)

Alan | 100 comments Sean, I have just seen the pics you posted, some of them beaches look fantastic, bodyboarding heaven. Did the house sell by the way? Just out of my price range haha.

message 1800: by Sean, Moderator (new)

Sean Peters | 10517 comments Mod
Not sold price been dropped to 8million.

But just above the secret beach I mentioned La Coup, the most expensive house sold in Jersey, went for over 12 million to a couple who also have a home in Switzerland, and also his mother has also moved to Jersey buying a home for 4 million, rich family.

Again I have a picture of this house but sure you can find this house on the google !
