Claudia (claudiaconnor) HI. I've cruised around and googled looking for this answer. I know I've seen the option to choose all when recommending, but not that I'm trying to do after signing into the author program it's gone. I go to my book. Click recommend. Then I get a pop up box with about 8 fiends and a button to recommend. I have to click each one individually then hit next for another 8 people. There has to be a way to share with all at once. Please help.

Thank you

CLaudia

D.C. | 198 comments I'm fairly sure you can't recommend your own title. It's occasionally been annoying to me when I've tried to rec' one of my books to an RL friend, but I'm fairly sure that it's because some people over recommend their work to the point of spam.

Mellie (mellie42) | 639 comments Unfortunately there are authors who only friend people so they can spam with "buy my book" messages. I suspect that is why you can't do a blanket "everybody" recommendation.

Claudia (claudiaconnor) AAHHHHH!! So sorry!!! I just went to some type of different page-maybe not my name page but my author profile page-??-and I got the message you can't recommend your own book. Mystery solved! Thank you so very much for your replies. It all makes sense now:)

Charles Garard (goodreadscomcharles_garard) | 142 comments You write that you've written a book, but I am having trouble making sense of your second sentence in the first message you wrote above.

I know what it's like to proofread one's own work. When I do that, I keep wanting to rewrite the text, not just correct spellings.

Or if there was "it's" before the not.

Judy (judy5cents) | 28 comments As a reader, I've always discounted any book recommended to me by the author, so I never bothered with it for my own books. It just comes off as blatant self promotion. Glad to hear that Goodreads has gotten rid of that option for authors. I think it did us more harm than good.

And Claudia, watch out for those fiends in your pop up box.
