Aussie Readers discussion

I’m interested to know what readers think of book trailers. I've been making some for my books and so far the feedback hasn't been too bad.

As a reader, is it your preference to watch a trailer or do you just like to read the dust jacket or first page?

You're welcome:) I know it's a fairly new thing - authors who have never done one before are doing them now. And it might be that as it becomes more popular, more people will view them. Good luck with whatever you decide Dianne:)

I haven't been taking much notice of them to be honest - but realize they are getting very common now and my daughter loves them as she is a very visual orientated person. I have recently started to link to a trailer if there is one when I do a review - I don't always remember but in time it will become part of my routine.

I was actually looking at one last night and even though the book is set down south the author lives in Darwin and here is where he filmed his trailer. I loved it because I recognized the scenes and had read enough of his book to see that the trailer was spot on :)

So I think they are growing on me - LOL!!!

It does seem to be catching on with the younger people, Sally. I live on a farm in the Cairns region so I'm thinking of filming something 'about me' one day soon because I just love the look of the surrounding area. I used some photos I had taken from my veranda for two of my trailers because those stories are set in this region.
I'm going to keep an eye on your reviews, if that's okay, so I can check out this trailer from Darwin :)

LOL - no worries. The book is Pandora Jones: Admission and I have finished it - just not gotten around to writing up the review as it is not due out until next month :)
