Cassandra | 5832 comments Great choice, ReGina! I really liked Chimamanda's essay.

Gabriella, remember that you don't need to read your selection all in one day - you could spread it over two or more days if you need.

Fr. Andrew (nitesead) Catherine wrote: "Everyone is picking such serious books. I'll be over in my corner alone with my cozy mystery. :)"

Well a couple are reading that Harry Potter spin-off book...

But yeah, I can't talk! I'm reading about cancer.

message 80: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 1561 comments I tried to pick something that I really genuinely can finish in one day, plus it's a TBR. But now I'm wishing I had picked something shorter!

message 81: by Serra (new)

Serra (mihrimah) | 2 comments I'm looking forward to 29th February! I will read "Bartleby the Scrivener" by Herman Melville.

message 82: by Winter, Group Reads (new)

Winter (winter9) | 4998 comments Catherine: serious or not, doesn't matter as long as it's something you want to read!:)

message 83: by Fr. Andrew (new)

Fr. Andrew (nitesead) Because I have to work on the 29th, I will do my one-day-a-thon on Sunday.

message 86: by Charity (new)

Charity (faeryrebel78) | 1465 comments I finished Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote. I really enjoyed Breakfast at Tiffany's and can't wait to watch the movie! A few of the others stories left a lot to be desired.

message 88: by Olivia (last edited Feb 23, 2016 06:15PM) (new)

Olivia Newton Thanks for this reading challenge! I will try to finish reading The Portrait of a Lady by Henry James by February 29. I had actually started the book last week but I really didn't have any time to read it intimately so I hope to use the extra time this week to finish it. Thanks!

message 89: by Laurie (new)

Laurie | 70 comments Complete (hopefully it was ok to read the book before the 29th, haha)! This is my "Sunday" so I'll be working tomorrow through the 29th. I started and finished Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone byJ.K. Rowling last night and finished this afternoon to celebrate the extra day challenge! Because of this, I also added an extra book to my personal year challenge. Now, I hope to finish 32 books (at least) in 2016!

message 92: by Catty (new)

Catty | 0 comments Hi Laura - what a great choice for a book! Good luck with this challenge!

I'm fairly new to Goodreads and still getting my head around all this, hence my (possibly!) impertinent question - but whereabouts did you find the 1001 Books To Read Before you Die list? I'd love to see what I've read on it - and what I still have to read lol!

Laura wrote: "HI. i'm going for The Time Machine Loved both of the films . I don't think I have read the book yet, It's also on 1001 books to read before you die list (or rather 1306 books now)"

message 93: by Catty (new)

Catty | 0 comments Please, please, please put me down for this one too - it sounds like so much fun! I'll just pick a random number (say between 1 and 50) from my bookshelf in the spare room (which has lots of books I haven't read) and go with that one maybe....that could be scary! Actually....to make it properly fair.....does anyone on here want to give me a number? :) First in, I'll post and read the associated title - and I'll even give someone else a random number if they want to do the same!

Jessica (bitsy 55) (bitsy55) | -6 comments I'd like to join! I will pick Ethan Frome. It's one I've been wanting to read and it's on my TBR list. I think it will work!

message 95: by Tanaz (new)

Tanaz Masaba (tanazmasaba) | 46 comments Ooooh now this is a challenge! I will read Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

message 96: by Catherine (new)

message 97: by Heather (last edited Feb 24, 2016 06:22AM) (new)

Heather | 16 comments I'd like to participate! I'm going to try to read Silently and Very Fast

message 98: by Kadijah Michelle (new)

Kadijah Michelle (kadmich) | 2176 comments Just a note: while I'm listing the participants, I won't be keeping up with whether you finished or not. I'm only listing the participants and their books so that people can see a list of books for the extra day.
Also, you do not have to read the book on the 29th. The Leap Day was the excuse for this challenge, but really we just wanted a one day challenge. Considering the popularity of this challenge, we might have more:)
I'm so happy to have you all here.
