2025 Reading Challenge discussion

Extra Day, Extra Reading
Duration Feb. 22, 2016 to Feb. 29, 2016

This year we have a leap day, and we thought it would be fun to have an extra special mini-challenge to celebrate the extra day we have this year!
Many of our yearly challenges require a book you can finish in one day (Modern Mrs. Darcy Challenge), read a book under a 100 pages (Book Riot Read Harder Challenge), or a book that's under 150 pages (PopSugar Reading Challenge).

For this challenge, you are limited to just one book. We would like you to try and read the whole book in just one day! But you will actually have a week to finish this challenge because we understand that everyone has different reading speeds and not everyone will be able to complete the book on Feb. 29, 2016.
If you would like to participate, select the book you plan on reading and post it below. Then let us know when you finish. That's it!

HI. i'm going for The Time Machine Loved both of the films . I don't think I have read the book yet, It's also on 1001 books to read before you die list (or rather 1306 books now)

I'll also try and read Candide by Voltaire! :)

I'm going to look at my stash when I get home from work tonight and select a book for this. I'm going to have to pick something short since I'm still trying to finish The Witches: Salem, 1692 for the February group read. Hopefully I can find something that can also count towards my TBR challenge.

Does manga count?

I will read: "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime" - by Mark Haddon

I'm going to read The Boy in the Mirror by Tom Preston. It's a short memoir (under a hundred pages) that I just got access to via Netgalley (thanks to whomever wrote something that triggered me to check out that dangerous website!). It came out last autumn. It's about a young man who, at around 21 I think, was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma.

I just reread A Walk to Remember in one day I think if its OK I'd like to do another full book tomorrow just not sure which

I suck at choosing a book I want to read in advance, bc I'll most likely change it but I'm def going to participate!!

Laura, it's good but not easy to read, the subject matter is very interesting but the author's writing style is very wordy. Sometimes it feels more like homework. But I'm almost 300 pages in now and it's gotten better.

I'm almost done with Winter by Marissa Meyer, so I'll choose the next book I'm gonna try to get it done in a day. I should be done Tuesday so I can get it started and hopefully finished Wednesday.

Bared to You by Sylvia Day although I just finished Kitchens of the Great Midwest which I totally hated. It was my second attempt. First time I gave up before 25 pages in. My book club chose this so I groaned and then made up my mind to finish it. I couldn't stand any of the characters in it. Nobody I could even remotely like but by the end I thought it was ok. Forgot to add, I did read this in a day this time.

I'll try to read City of Illusions by Ursula K. Le Guin on 29th.

It looks SO GOOD, I've just been waiting for a task for ANY challenge to put it on.

Great idea. I'm going for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in honour of the movie coming out later this year. It's a tiny book so should be easily done in a day and I haven't re-read it in such a long time!

I'll read The Library of Unrequited Love. Probably on Saturday, but we'll see.


EDIT: I read the book in 2 hours on Friday night.

That was my short book last year. I hadn't read it since high school, and I loved it so much more as an adult. I hope you like it.
