This is my favorite book of all time. Anyone who I've recommended it to has loved it and anyone who's given me the "But I don't READ" excuse... Well we don't talk much anymore...

Brigid ✩ | 738 comments Gahh yes, Unwind is totally un-put-down-able. ;) One of the best dystopias I've read. I just love how eerily real it all seems, and I think because it focuses so well on how psychologically scary the whole thing is. That, and Shusterman's world-building is genius.

Yes it has been. Hope to see you lots and lots! :)"

I'll drop in from time to time. I lost faith in modern literature after spending too much money on too many disappointing books (also I'm in college now, so I have less time to read). I didn't have much to add to the conversations going on in this group and still don't, hence my absence.

I am curious to see what the next "big thing" in YA is, though. Maybe the big sellers have improved since I left (I'm still annoyed about Hunger Games being more popular than Chaos Walking).

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 4472 comments I've finnished Quicksilver, and also read Badwater. Now I'm reading Volcano Watch. All three books are from the same series by Toni Dwiggins.

I finished A Tyranny of Petticoats 15 Stories of Belles, Bank Robbers & Other Badass Girls by Jessica Spotswood and it was so fun! A few stories were heartbreaking, but all had great themes and great MCs!

Started The Daughter of the Sea and the Sky by David Litwack in ebook, and I don't know what I think of it yet. It started out strong, but now I'm a bit bored. The author asked me to read it, I read his first book a few years ago and LOVED it, so I was hoping to love this. I'm not too far in, so I'll give it a bit!

Just started The Windup Girl by Paolo Bacigalupi Not far in, but its AMAZING so far! This will be an intense read!

Also listening to The Conspiracy of Us (The Conspiracy of Us, #1) by Maggie Hall narrated by Julia Whelan, and its REALLY GOOD! I'm about 2/3 of the way through.

Next I'm going to read A Mad Zombie Party (White Rabbit Chronicles, #4) by Gena Showalter can't wait!

Caitlin (caitlinsiem) | 409 comments I finished The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller yesterday. And my goodness, I haven't sobbed like that in a long time. And I say that in the loving way us readers do.

I'm starting Dark Days Club by Alison Goodman. But, if I don't finish it by the time The Raven King is here on Tuesday it will be set aside. Nothing is going to get between me and that book. ;)

It's a very absorbing book. I have a bit of a break from schoolwork now and I almost finished this book in on day.

Rose (The_Calm_Reader) (roselittlebookowl75) | 1372 comments I'm halfway through The Dream Thieves and loving it! It's been slow going because I'm working alot and also trying to absorb all the details.

I'm also reading HP and The Goblet of Fire!

Caitlin (caitlinsiem) | 409 comments @Aliza - I loved Vicious! It's a very well done book. I hope you enjoy the rest of it. I'm really excited for the second one (which she's working on now). But I love all of Schawb's work.

Sorry I haven't been around much in the last few days! I've been working on revisions for the first book in a high fantasy series :)

But I have still been reading! I'm now working on The Winner's Curse (The Winner's Trilogy, #1) by Marie Rutkoski . Not sure what to think yet. The author is very talented, and I'm enjoying it, but not to the point where I can't put it down. A few good twists and surprises could change that though!

message 295: by Heather (new)

Heather I will be picking a new book tomorrow!

message 296: by Elora (new)

Ashley Marie Praying TRK gets here soon! It's supposed to have shipped over the weekend with 3-day shipping but the tracking isn't showing anything *anxious*

In other news, enjoying my Trickster reread Trickster's Queen (Daughter of the Lioness, #2) by Tamora Pierce
book 2 isn't as fast-paced as book 1 but I'm still enjoying it. Tortall is such a beautiful world.

Also really liking Watership Down by Richard Adams

message 300: by Caitlin (new)

Caitlin (caitlinsiem) | 409 comments I'm with Elora.

I finished The Dark Days Club last night (it was good, I enjoyed it) and I am refusing to pick anything up until The Raven King arrives on my kindle tonight. I preordered one of Maggie's signed copies from Fountain Bookstore but I refuse to wait for the mailman so I bought it for kindle too. I'm so freaking excited for this book. And also super scared and kinda dreading it at the same time.
