Brigid ✩ | 738 comments @Elora - Haha same here. I kept telling myself I would re-read them all before the last book came out, and I didn't finish re-reading BLLB until Monday, haha. Cutting it really close, but I made it. :D And yes I was also just swept right into them once again. They really do just suck you in!

@Rose - YAY! Yes they are the best!! :)

@Aasha - Agreed, beautiful and perfect. <3 I didn't cry, but I came close!

I finished my audio of The Conspiracy of Us (The Conspiracy of Us, #1) by Maggie Hall and I loved it! Such a great performance from Julia Whelan, too!

I finished Calamity (Reckoners, #3) by Brandon Sanderson and I LOVED it! A bit of it is left open ended, it soundslike the author is going to write a spin off series for this world!

Next I'm reading Passenger (Passenger, #1) by Alexandra Bracken and Torn Sky (Rebel Wing, #3) by Tracy Banghart

Next I'm reading Passenger (Passenger, #1) by Alexandra Bracken tonight. We shall see. I just finished The City of Mirrors (The Passage, #3) by Justin Cronin last night and I'm having a hard time starting another book.

BTW, it has only happened in this group.

I really liked it. There's one thing I would have done a little differently but it doesn't change anything about the story and how it ends. I thought the ending was really good and fitting.

I was a little sad about a few of the characters.

It's hard not to post spoilers!

Brigid ✩ | 738 comments @Karen - Yay!! That series is like ... my whole life right now, I love it so much. :D It's definitely better when you re-read it, I think, because there's so much great foreshadowing. (view spoiler)

I've had that happen to me before, too. Goodreads formatting is far from perfect! When that happens, I just delete the italics completely, and put the person name I'm responding too instead.

I may or may not have ordered all 4 books in hardback yesterday! (Ok, yes I did!) And I just finished The Raven Boys and can't wait for my books to get here, so I'm buying and downloading The Dream Thieves (The Raven Cycle, #2) by Maggie Stiefvater right now. Yikes!

Understandable. I don't think the book really picked up any steam until nearly halfway. I'm curious though, what did you find unappealing about it?

This ^^^^ :D

I think my ranking of the whole series is:

1. The Dream Thieves
2. The Raven King
3. The Raven Boys
4. Blue Lily, Lily Blue

I adore them all, though!!

message 397: by Elora (new)

Elora Mitchell | 449 comments I agree Brigid, but I'm torn over #2 and 3... I'd probably pick Raven boys over Raven King for the mere fact of (view spoiler)That alone is one of the reasons I fell in love with this series!

message 398: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 738 comments It's hard to choose between those two! I'm pretty certain about my #1 and #4, but I feel like TRK and TRB are kinda tied for the middle spot. ;) They're the "bookends" of the series so they're very different! (view spoiler)

I got my hardbacks of The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater and Blue Lily, Lily Blue (The Raven Cycle, #3) by Maggie Stiefvater today which was really fast! Hope I get The Raven King (The Raven Cycle, #4) by Maggie Stiefvater tomorrow because I think I'll be ready for it by Sunday! ;)

Now reading The Dream Thieves (The Raven Cycle, #2) by Maggie Stiefvater and it feels like another late night!! Ronan, Ronan, Ronan!!!!

message 400: by Daniel (new)

Daniel (pickyreader1) | 1925 comments Finished Snow Like Ashes (Snow Like Ashes, #1) by Sara Raasch and while I ended up liking it much more than I initially thought I would, I didn't feel a strong emotional connection to the story, perhaps because it was so predictable.
Review to come later.
