Meh. I read this book for Week 20, a book with a first name in the title. And....I hated it. I know I may be in the minority, but it felt like I just didn't "get" it. I didn't find it funny/amusing, which I apparently was supposed to. Ultimately, it just wasn't for me and I don't think I'll be picking up any more of David Wong's books.

J Austill | 1125 comments I've been wondering about this one. I certainly like David Wong as a writer at Cracked.com, but I haven't yet ventured out into his novels.

I wasn't familiar with him from cracked.com, but I am more than willing to accept that others may like this, it just wasn't my type of humor. I have heard positive reviews of Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits, so maybe try that one first?

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments I read it last year and can definitely say that you should like nonsense to appreciate this book. Any person who was put off by The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy: A Trilogy in Five Parts for example wouldn't like this one.

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments Oh great, I'm planning on reading it this year! (I love the title)

Erica | 555 comments I loved this book! There's a movie too, which was pretty good but of course not as good as the book :)

°~Amy~° (amybooksit) I read this for week 38: A book about an anti hero. I liked it ok and gave it 3 stars. I am not sure if I will read any other books by this author or not though.

Jenni is on storygraph (sprainedbrain) I listened to this book for week 5 (a book with a title beginning with the first letter of your name). I laughed out loud many times - a really enjoyable book if you are into nonsense and sarcasm. The narrator of the audible version was very entertaining. :)

Marta (gezemice) | 859 comments This was an awesome book. So bizzarre and weird that it is completely genius. I loved his humor - the type of humor that lets you figure out the punch line so you feel really smart when you laugh out loud. Nothing is what it seems and you just have to roll with it.

I never read horror but this was so over the top that the gore didn't bother me at all. It was one of my favorites for the year.
